This car seat is great! It's big (will not fit comfortably in a compact car) and feels very solid as if it will protect the baby for any accidents. I wish it had a way to hook the belts to the side to hold it out of the way when putting the baby in. I'm constantly having to dig for the bottom clips from behind / underneath the baby and generally annoying him with the car seat buckling process which could be be made easier.
Made well and fits well. It is a little on the bulkier side, so I do not recommend this seat if you need multiple unless you're driving a large SUV/ minivan with bucket seats. I drive a crossover and would be missing the middle seat if I had two of these in the back seat. The material is fantastic. It is well made and durable. I have been using this for a few months now and can say it stays cool to touch even on warm days. I went from a nuna to this and I have no complaints.
Really nice. Easily cleanable and comfortable for the kids. We put our 3 month old in this one for a 2 hour drive and she did well.
This car seat is great. I bought it for its safety ratings but as a bonus the installation is a breeze. Our 6 month old baby loves the seat and she has a better view in it than her infant car seat due to the 9 different seat positions.
Love the super chinch technology makes for a great install, with the help of 9 recline positions, the level bubble, and of course READING THE MANUAL COVER TO COVER took me only 4-5 minutes to get a solid install. The zip cover is amazing for easy cleaning and the cooling fabric helps with our Louisiana summers. Will purchase another if we have another child or happen to be in an accident.
Seems safe/sturdy and you can really cinch down on the latch system, but definitely more bulky than I expected (transitioning from the regular key fit), with higher sides to put baby up and over. The straps don't have any feature to keep them out of the way, so always having to pull the straps up and over baby sitting on the crotch strap.
We have been using the seat for about a month and we (parents and kid) are highly satisfied. We transitioned from a Infant Chicco KeyFit 35 to this and it is much easier to put him in the seat and with less fussiness. The zipper is a bit hard, so we have to be mindful but nothing dangerous for his safety and gives us piece of mind knowing we can remove the fabric easily. We were used to the ability to pull the straps from the back (at Chicco KeyFit 35 you can access them in the back of the seat), so now we still adjusting on tightening the belts. The 4* as we are still new in the use of the seat, but I suspect in a few months it will be 5* knowing the quality of Chicco.
We have always had Chicco carseats and we love them. This one only gets 4 stars because of the short pull strap. It's such a pain to fish out if you pull it too far and the release button is difficult to access. I'm not sure why Chicco tried to reinvent the wheel here. The set up on the older ones was far better. But, all in all, this is a good carseat.
Car seat doesn't fit well in a small SUV rear-facing OR a forward facing as it is probably 1-2 inches larger than the older model of the Nextfit Zip. The lower leg button is also closer into the groin, so my 4yo said it was hurting him. I wouldn't recommend this seat.
Pain in the butt to transfer from car to car or install in an older vehicle with the seatbelt. Super bulky car seat, leaves little to no room for a front passenger in smaller vehicles or in my case a truck with an extended cab. Hard to get toddler in and out of the seat due to the high sides leaving an awkward opening space to cram the kid through.
