I did watch a few videos for basic instructions, because I haven't used candy melts before. However the instructions on the product are helpful too. I found a little MCT oil helped with flow, after reheating a second time, so it got into the edges of my candy mold, but, overall, it was pretty easy to work with. It's messy, of course, but you just find a system of tools and parchment paper to deal with that. The colors mixed okay as well, dark %26 light to make medium blue.
Love this brand, very tasty n melts quick in microwave. Have bought in many flavors, love them all. Will never buy any other brand again. Gona make this with eggs and egg whites, fresh lemon juice n zest with this van chocolate. Can't wait, bet be Goooooooood.
Perfect for a perfect match for the colors of our flag. I'll be dipping bake goods, and it will give the best blue color. It melts smoothly, as long as you add coconut oil to thin it out. All chocolate that has had color added needs more coconut oil. These ate affordable for the same results
We get this to drizzle on popcorn and we love it. It tastes yummy, not too sweet or chalky tasting like other products. It melts really well based on the instructions. I have found that I have to adjust the instructions slightly, but I think that's due to my microwave and not the product. The color is a nice red that hardens more of a matte finish.
If you're looking for easy melting chocolate, this is the one. It's easy and the color is very vibrant. The taste is ok. It's white chocolate. Price is kinda pricey. I would prefer chocolate.
I purchased black and red candy melts. The black arrived from the store already melted into a huge brick. The color is more a dark grey. When melting this candy according to the directions, it was thick and impossible to dip anything. After reading the ingredients I see it contains palm oil. Chocolate with palm oil melts into sludge. If you use this product, be prepared to add a little bit of vegetable oil to thin the chocolate for dipping. Red candy melts were a lot easier to use and were not previously melted in their bag.
We have used colored melting wafers for years, our local supplier retired 😔 I saw these and was pretty excited to try them. I had 4 double boiler's going and this one was the worst. They can't take the heat, I was continuing to add wafers to try to control it before it would seize. I find these wafers to be too much trouble while trying to chill and make some goodies. I will keep trying to find what I used to be able to just go and get.
I wish I had read the reviews but I thought this was a pretty easy purchase. I've never had chocolate not melt. I microwaved it a 20 second intervals until it was burnt and oily at the same time, it never really melted but it did melt the plastic spoon I was stirring it with!
I would give this zero stars if I could. This is supposed to be light blue. I tried to melt it in the microwave in 30 second increments at 50% power and this is what happened. I’ve used Wilton and other brands of candy melts and have melted actual chocolate numerous times in the past and this has NEVER happened before. They started to melt but suddenly turned into paste. I added a small amount of coconut oil in hopes of salvaging it before microwaving for 20 seconds at 40 percent power but it’s like it seized? But there was absolutely zero reason that it should have seized. As you can tell, the color is completely wrong as well, but it seemed to have already bloomed inside the bag which I’m guessing is the reason for the grayish, dirty-looking color.
Taste and overall use is usually amazing.. ordered for pick up and it's just a melted brick and not wafers.. 4/5 bags ordered were melted and don't want to chance using them incase taste is bad
