Cholula Salsa Verde - Mild Salsa, 12.0 oz Jar

I usually prefer Herdez salsa verde. After trying Cholula, I am a fan. It is sooo good. My new favorite. It has a really great roasted taste, chunky and fresh tomatillo. A bit pricier, but well worth it. 100% recommend!

This is the 2nd jar of Cholula salsa verde that I've purchased. I found mold growing in my first jar after it had been open for a week or so. I thought it was a fluke and ordered another jar because I liked the flavor. Unfortunately the 2nd jar that I purchased upon opening, also had mold growing inside. It was a brand new jar, never opened! I don't think a 3rd time will be a charm or a possibility.

I do not have the experience of living with Latin culture but I do use the salsa verde because it is mild with a touch of sweetness and easy on my stomach compared to red salsas. I like to mix this in my fresh made guacamole and use it on tacos, tostadas or burritos. Nice for dipping nachos in too. Oh, and for a great topping on vegetable omelets. When I opened this jar the thickness and freshness was obvious. This is the only one I like more than Herradura brand which is thinner. It has a use by date 2 years away. Cholula is made in Mexico but owned by McCormick.

This is a really tasty salsa. I love it with just chips or on any Mexican dish. But the label for spiciness is incorrect. It is labeled as mild, but I would say it's more medium.

This salsa verde is a good dip for chips. I definitely recommend this for anyone who wants a quality salsa that has a great taste without feeling over powered. This brand offers different dips that I cannot weight to try. I will be repurchasing this dip once I have finished.

This salsa is very tasty and flavorful. It is good with chips or on a taco. It tastes very good as a marinade for some cooked chicken or with quesadillas. It also tastes delicious mixed in guacamole. I enjoy the mildly spicy taste. It has a little heat and lots of flavor.

I really like this product. It is great as a dip with tortilla chips, and it is also a lovely sauce and marinade for chicken, tofu and beyond. It has a nice texture, and I particularly liked the big pieces of onion. It does have a slight "jarred" and processed taste that you do not get from homemade, so that is why I withheld one star.

This salsa was just okay. It wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. The taste was very processed versus fresh and there was an unusual aftertaste. If I weren't simply sampling it, I think I would brighten it up with lime juice. If this was the salsa I had on hand I would use it, but it's not one that I would actively seek out.

I was sent this salsa and wanted to try it a few different ways before reviewing it. First, I tried it with carnitas (pork tacos). Second, I put it in beef and potato burritos. Third, chicken nachos. It was delicious all three ways, but it was the best, with the pork, then the chicken. I make Salsa Verde sometimes but it's hard to find decent tomatillos where I live. Now, though, I don't to make it because Cholula's tastes just like fresh made.

Gave this salsa verde a whirl on breakfast burritos from our favorite local spot.. Paired perfectly with the right amount of kick! Not too thick, but almost a little too thin for chips. Has NOT stopped the boys from dunking into it though! They LOVE it!
