I quit driving and depend on Walmart grocery delivery. I was nervous to order a chuck roast instead of picking it out myself but the shopper exceeded my expectations with a beautiful roast, just enough marbling. Slowcooker bound and an awesome tasty dinner!!
Cooked this slowly in my oven at 250 degrees for 4 -6 hours while I was shopping. My hubby kept an eye on it for me. I usually cook it in my crockpot but it wasn't available. I wanted that same slow cooking method. It turned out really tender and we made 2 meals out of this for 3 adults. There was a little extra fat on this cut but not too bad. Fat does keep it moist and gives it flavor. We just don't eat the fat portions.
I have bought several of these roasts. It was just as good this time as it was the first time I never have trouble with my meat at Walmart. I have heard other people complain, but I don't know what they're complaining about. It was tender and a good size in the convenience of having Walmart delivery is a blessing for me.
I wash seasoned and then marinated this roast overnight. The next day I put it in my favorite crockpot with beef broth carrots onions peppers celery and garlic. It turned out really good long side the bacon and cheese baked potatoes…yummy to our tummies!
Pot roast was excellent—was it luxury-expensive butcher level? Maybe not, but was way better than the price would lead you to expect. I made beef burgundy and it cut like a dream, fat was well-marbled throughout, couldn’t have picked it better myself (it was delivered). Definitely recommend!
company is have added so much water to stuff nowadays that it weighs 10 lb but then after you cook it it weighs 3 lb. I'm sick of this practice everything that I buy like whether it comes from pork to chicken it ends up less than half its size after I cook it. stop pumping up our food. and I want everything it says saline solution added for freshness yeah no don't add salt water don't add anything just sell me my food the weight that you got it at to the weight that I buy it at stop trying to inflate your prices
The chuck roast cooked up fairly tender and had good flavor overall, making it a decent option for slow cooking or pot roast. However, the consistency can vary quite a bit depending on the cut you get, with some pieces having more fat and gristle than expected. It's convenient and filling, but not always the best value for the price.
These rows have too much fat on them and they would make a family sick if you don’t cut it off or scoop it out after it is cooked. I do like Walmart meat but this particular time I have to make this review maybe to bring awareness to the meat department, I had to put so much fat on the meat to trim it off for the Customer
had way too much fat for the roast and it was tough. cooked in oven and it was so tuff. I even put meat tenderizer on it -as we always do with seasoning!! unable to eat -intended to return, but didn't make it to store jb/c I'm handicapped and had no help to return it to the store b4 it ruined. I was hit head-on and now in a wheelchair which prevents me from getting out a lot anyway,
roast looked ok but tasted gross, no beef taste made pot roast cooked in oven 5 hours tough chew no flavor cost me $22. i have been cooking for 60 years %26 never had a roast so bad so also splurged and bought a steak was afraid it was the same did cook half %26 yes also had to toss could not chew it. i spent half of my weekly grocery budget on these 2 items never will buy meat from Walmart again %26 i will be spreading the word- you are not the only grocer in maple grove.
