This scanner works well and is a noticeable upgrade over a basic check-engine-light code reader. It powers itself directly from the OBD2 port, so there is no separate battery to charge or keep track of. It also boots up quickly, which is nice when you just want to plug in, check a vehicle, and get on with the repair.
The unit has a good fit in the hand and the overall functionality is easy to use. In addition to reading and clearing codes, it can access ABS, SRS, and transmission systems, display live data, and perform a battery test. The battery test is primarily a cranking test, where the device measures the starting voltage before cranking, the max voltage drop during cranking, and the recovery voltage after the vehicle starts. It's useful to find starting problems. Connecting it to Wi-Fi allows software updates, and the AI mode provides some basic diagnostic guidance that can help point you in the right direction when troubleshooting a problem.
For the price, this is an excellent value because it offers substantially more diagnostic capability than a basic code reader without being difficult to use.
5 stars — I recommend it.
