[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have aging, sensitive and acne prone skin. The sensitive skin brush was too soft to feel like it really exfoliated my skin but the teal colored brush for acne prone skin was way too harsh and actually hurts me to use. This light green brush head was the perfect brush to meet all of my skin care needs yet still feels effective without feeling harsh. It's definitely my new go to replacement head.
The Mia was recommended by my daughter's aesthetician for her acne. We had tried several top rated OTC products and a prescription topical, and they just weren't helping much. She said because the surface skin wasn't sloughing, the products were not penetrating well. Bought the Mia as she suggested and now with the products we already had been using her skin was 100% better within a week. What a difference! Now I want one!
I have used several different Clarisonic brushheads but the Acne brushhead works the best for me. I have pores that seem to plug up easily causing milia. I use my Clarisonic everyday and have had the same one for at least 5 years with no problems.
This is a very nice brush for acne. My young son uses this now that he's growing and starting to deal with acne. I was hesitant at first but it's gentle but thorough and seems to help quite a bit. He uses it in the shower with plenty of water and his cleanser. It's definitely not as angry looking when he's done.
I switched from the Luxe brush head after noticing it was just too soft and I'd have to follow up with a heavy duty exfoliator to get a deep clean. Now, while the Luxe brush head is literally heaven on your face -- perfect for truly sensitive skin that can't take even the slightest amount of tugging and those who are bb/cc cream wearers -- the Acne Sensitive brush head is like it's cool, rowdy cousin. Tough enough to remove excess dirt, oil, makeup and dead skin, but "soft" enough to not irritate you too much. The bristles are shorter and more packed together so there is a noticeable difference in firmness. It really grips the face! I do miss the extreme softness of the Luxe, but with the Acne Sensitive brush head, I only have to wash once :) A plus for my acne pickers alliance, this brush helps coax the guck to the surface. So if you're itching to pop a painful bump, but need it to rise a bit and sit overnight -- BUY THIS BRUSH HEAD. Speeds up the turnover of whiteheads. I also have notice that I don't get clogged pores as much as I used to. Mine are VERY LARGE in my T-Zone across the nose. I just seep oil...all day. With consistent use of this, I've noticed the oil production has slowed a bit. I'm sure it'll help with additional tricks in my skincare routine, but this baby is the bomb dig, yo.
I received my Mia 2 a few years ago as a gift and I use it occasionally with the acne brush heads. I would use it more frequently if the brush heads weren't so expensive. That's why I took off one star. I do notice a difference in my skin when I use the brush, but sometimes I just have to deal with my acne until I can afford to buy new brush heads.
I've only used the brush for a few weeks but ive already noticed a vast improvement in the level of exfoliation. It's too soon to determine whether it's helped my breakouts but with the level of exfoliation I've seen so far I can only imagine it will live up in to the billing. I was using the deep pow brush for years and it was not as effective. I would certainly by this again.
I've been using the acne cleansing brush head for years now. However, up until about a month ago, I only used it once a day, a couple of times per week. I noticed that by using it twice a day, my skin is cleaner and my skin tone is becoming more evened. I am glad that I have starting using the brush more b/c I like the results much better than using my hands or a washcloth.
I loved the sensitive brush head before it was redesigned. I thought I'd try this as a substitute, but it's pretty harsh. I definitely have to use it lightly against my face. I won't order this brush head again.
I have not received the product yet. It was supposed to be here a week ago. I suggest NOT ordering from ME Boutique out of Baldwin NY.
