This coop is made with great material. Perfect ventilation for the girls. The windows that open and close are a great addition. I have 7 hens and they are very comfortable. With bigger space it is easier to clean. Great job OverEz! 3 year warranty is also a Bonus!
The delivery process was smooth, super easy to put together, I was done in less than an hour. The chicks love it. Just wish I could find a automatic door to fit the space as I can’t find one wide enough
This is an awesome coop. My husband and son put it together in just over an hour. We like this coop so much we got another one because our flock has grown! Heavy duty quality built coop. Two things that could be improved upon: the screens on the windows are flimsy and won't protect the hens from predators (so I'll be replacing them) and the "perches" inside the coop are too close together so the hens poop on one another. I've just made a homemade "perch" to use with one that came with the coop. Great price for the quality you get!
Just purchased the large coop to replace two cheap, old, falling-apart coops... the difference is even more dramatic than I anticipated. This is a solid, well-constructed structure that will probably last 5x as long as the ones it's replacing. My chickens will be thrilled!
This is my second Large OverEZ coop. I purchased my first one five years ago and it's still going strong - has been moved from one property to another and to different spots on this property and is still sturdy and straight. The new coop is high quality as well and was reasonably easy to assemble, with a few notes: First, you will need two people to slide the side panels into the slots - it's a tight fit and may take some strength. Second, the pre-set screws chewed through five drill bits (rounded them off). Super frustrating and thankfully we had several on hand, because we were working between snowstorms to get this coop built. And third, I recommend using a 3" hole saw and 3" screen inserts to add more ventilation across the front and sides. Your birds will thank you. With the added ventilation we've had multiple frostbite-free winters even here in Maine.
We received our coop today, I was instantly surprised! It was packed very nice and labeled. My wife and I were able to put it together it wasn’t difficult at all. We love the look and the attention to detail. I was thankful for the pre drilled screws. No complaints, we are excited to get our chickens in the coop to enjoy! But our grand children arevery excited as well! Thank you!
This coop is replacing a much cheaper one that was falling apart after two years. I think the coop quality is great and should last many years. It will probably outlive the chickens. My husband and I are not super handy. We did manage to get it together in about 2 hours. We are older and the weight of the pieces was what slowed us down I think. The instructions were easy to follow and everything worked out fine. The coop arrived quickly. All the pieces seemed to be there. Would definitely do business again.
I ordered the large coop and very happy with it. It was super easy to build. My wife and I put it together in about 30 minutes. The quality of the coop and the ease of putting t together makes this a win. The only complaint I have was there was some slight cosmetic damage that occurred during shipment. I would recommend they put a cover sheet on the top to help protect the finish or turn the top panel with the finish side down when crating it. Great coop and the chicks are already digging it!
I really like the quality of the coop. There are two things I had to do that would have made assembly much quicker and easier. First, there are trim boards that form a slot at the end of two of the walls. I had to pry them loose to fit the two longer walls into the slot. Second, there are three short boards attached to the short wall on the floor section. The wall with the laying boxes sits on top of that short wall. There were three short 2x4's on the short wall that are not shown in the directions. I can only assume they are to stabilize the short wall during shipping. You will need to remove them or the laying box wall will have a 1/2" gap at the corners. This is not in the directions and it would have saved me about an hour of aggravation trying to close the gaps. Otherwise, it is great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a crappy TSC coop lasting less than a year, we figured it was time to upgrade and OverEZ seemed like a good fit. We got it on sale around December and didn’t get the chance to set it up until March It took a few hours to get set up with just my wife and I. If you’re able to store it someplace completely dry then you may have an easier time than we did. The day before installing we unboxed everything from the pallet and rested all the pieces on the ground around where we were installing it. The next morning everything was humid and dewey and I think that may have made some of the wood’s dimensions not line up quite as snug as they should. It took a lot of hammering with a mallet and jamming and pushing to get everything to fit well enough together. The roof pieces still don’t overlap as cleanly as they do in the video tutorial, but it’s physically as close as we can get it and less than an 1/8” gap isn’t too bad. It’s still water tight and secure So for a prebuilt coop solution it’s pretty tough to beat. I do think it would benefit from more ventilation in the soffit/roof overhang, even if it means a little extra cost it’s probably well worth it because I’m not sure the top corner gable vents are quite sufficient for airflow. And I’m not sure why the roost bar notches are cut for the short side up instead of the long side up… the birds prefer a wider flatter roost bar as opposed to narrow Either way, it’s definitely good for what it is and we’re satisfied!
