This is my first all electric fireplace and it took the place of a wood burner the only draw back is that in a power outage it doesn't work but I plan on getting a genset to power it in that event so there's no down side to owning one it's certainly cleaner

The only concern I have is I when I purchased the fireplace, it was during the summer in the middle of a heat wave. The thermastat reaches 90 degrees and it was already that in the room so the heat feature didn't come on because the room was so hot(per customer srvc rep). I am waiting until it cools down some to try it out.

My product is an electric fireplace. It's like a normal fireplace except it has a bit of a twist to it. This amazing product works wonders in the winter time. The way this fireplace works is it runs on gas which can be turned on or turned off, but it also works with a light switch that controls it. From reading the description of this electric fireplace online, the creators have said it to be “well-designed” as well as “ordinary”, but when it comes to this product that's not what people look for. The expectations for this fireplace are just to be an ordinary fireplace, but you're able to control its height and sound. It's also said to keep you warm just like a regular fireplace. The great thing about this product is that it provides heat and can be controlled using a wifi powered remote. A fireplace like this can be easily timed and set to a certain temperature. With an electric fireplace, it heats up to 400 square feet and its remote is multi-functional. You can get one in many shapes and sizes. There are a lot of different electric fireplaces that have many great features. An electric fireplace such as the Opti-V Duet brings wood burning to another level and it doesn't even require anyone with experience to know how to use it. It's as simple as flipping a switch and making sure the gas is turned on. You don't need to do anything else besides flipping a switch and that's what I like about this product. Some more expectations about this product is that it doesn't leave a mess or give off smoke, and it's meant to keep your family warm as well as your friends entertained all year long. A product like this changes the way probably most people use fires today which is what makes it so easy and so popular. I've had this product for about 5-6 years now and it's amazing. It wasn't exactly purchased by my family, it was kind of purchased by someone else who built our house and used it to fill in the gap. I use this product mostly during the winter or when it's just cold outside. There have been some times where it wouldn't work when we needed it. My family and I use it when the AC in our house is broken but I mainly use it during winter. At first I wasn't sure how it worked, but then we realized that it was connected with the wires in the walls so that way we could use a light switch to power it. The heat it gives off is totally awesome and it doesn't require any work. Ours didn't come with a remote , but it did come with a full set of everything an electric fireplace has. I love how it doesn't burn out or put up an effort to make it. It's very useful during the winter, but that's when things get hectic sometimes. When our fireplace wasn't working, we weren't sure if it was because of the cold or if it had something to do with the light switch. My brother luckily found out the problem and was able to fix it by turning the gas back on, which was weird since we never did anything to turn the gas off. My family and I don't really use it a lot but when we do, it's always a relief to have electronic heat in our house instead of constantly messing around with the thermostat on our wall. I can say that it's better than having to use the vents around the house and mostly because it keeps us warm all day. We aren't able to control it, but we are able to turn it on and off at any time, which is kind of like controlling it, but not really. I personally love that it's easy to use and easy to work with, I could never set it up the way the original builders of our house have. The great thing about it is that it stays warm all day and night, but the gas is the main thing that worries us, so we try not to use it for certain hours. There are a lot of pros and cons about this product and that's what I'm going to explain next. One pro I like about this product is that it's easy to use and easy to work. It's also perfect for romantic evenings. This product also allows you to turn it off and on whenever you want and that's what I like most about it too. Another pro about this fireplace; the heat comes electronically which feels just like an actual fire. It doesn't give off smoke or leave a mess which is easy on me and my family. Our experience with it has been great so far, but there still are a couple things we don't like about it either. It provided us with the expectations that the original seller had on their website which was that it's easy to use and that it keeps us warm all year long. On the other hand, things didn't work out when we tried to use it a couple times within the last few weeks. We couldn't get our fireplace to start, or light up when we hit the switch. It took us a while to figure out the problem since none of us had any experience with fixing a fireplace. That's when we realized that our gas had gone out or that it was turned off, but we never knew why. Sometimes it's hard to get it up and running when the weather is bad which is why it takes us forever to get it going in the house. Another thing we don't like is how quickly the gas can go out even when we aren't using it. The expectations weren't at all what we were hoping to get when things went wrong with it. We never expected the fireplace to break or stop working since it's so well placed, and we never thought the gas could go out. There are a lot of things I like and dislike about this product, and I really want to get into more of them but the truth is, I don't know where to start or how to explain the rest of the issues we have with it. In all honesty, I would highly recommend this product to anyone that wants an easy fireplace to set up and use for the winter. If I had the chance to, I would buy it again for it's amazing technology and great quality. Overall, the product was just like how it was described when we looked it up. It is easy to use and it's very easy to work when you want it to work. I would say that it isn't worth the money if it will just constantly break or problems occur, but it is a great piece of technology that changes the way we use fires today. The product itself is great and I hope you all get a chance to experience the joys and easiness of this product during the winter. You should save up your money though since they are a bit expensive, but it's worth it for the way it keeps people warm all year long. I would love to have this product in my college dorm someday when I move out.

This is principally a room heater, and secondarily a faux fire-place. In both respects, it is very good. Moreover, it is one of the very few 220V models (the only power source sufficient for a larger room). I cannot vouch for the longevity of the product yet, but so far very happy.One more thing: Electric Fireplaces Direct is the way to go. [...]

This fire place is so cool looking. I find that I want it on always, it looks so good on,(looks dull off). It is under my flat screen and I would rather watch the ""fire"" then the TV, it's that good. I am trying to figure out away to add another one to my home, I'm thinking a small one over a bath tub. Color me happy with this purchase. Got the unit installed just in time for the warm weather to arrive, and I'm going to have it on regardless of the outside temp.

We use the fireplace to heat a large livingroom and it does the job well. The fan is a little distracting when watching tv. The wiring comes out the side which makes inserting it into the opening a little difficult, should come out the rear or have a larger flange to cover a bigger opening. It does look great and put out a lot of heat though.

The fire did not work when it was first installed which was very disappointing. After a couple of calls with a technician a new blower was shipped. Now that the new blower is installed the fire meets all our expectations. My husband is an electrician and therefore felt comfortable removing the faulty blower and replacing it but thought that an inexperienced person would be overwhelmed. If you are going to continue selling this product in Canada there should be service personnel.

I recommend the product, not the support. If you ever need support, Twin Star make you use a support portal that is just fricking terrible. First you have to completely register and fill out a whole bunch of c r a p just to log in. it is almost impossible to find out how to submit a ticket for parts or help. Noisy flame motor. Pull it all apart, 50 screws later and un reachable screws holding the glass on, completely stupid design. no actual access. Pull out the faulted loud flame motor and get ready to do it all again when that breaks . The unit doesn't get used in the summer only runs in winter and not that often then. Why does it break??
