ClassicFlame 36 inch 240V Traditional Built in Electric Fireplace Insert, 67 lb

We love the insert. It is attractive and puts out great heat. The size is just right for a built in unit with a mantle over the top. We would have preferred gas or log fireplace but just can't do that here. We are very happy with our purchase and would recommend it to others needing an electric fireplace alternative solution. It was delivered ahead of schedule with no problems whatsoever. Great service!

This is my first all electric fireplace and it took the place of a wood burner the only draw back is that in a power outage it doesn't work but I plan on getting a genset to power it in that event so there's no down side to owning one it's certainly cleaner

The only concern I have is I when I purchased the fireplace, it was during the summer in the middle of a heat wave. The thermastat reaches 90 degrees and it was already that in the room so the heat feature didn't come on because the room was so hot(per customer srvc rep). I am waiting until it cools down some to try it out.

Overall, this is a good looking, child-friendly fireplace that I am largely satisfied with. Simple enough installation, once it was in my hands. We were removing a gas fireplace and installing this and I didn't feel 100% convinced it was all going to work easily. I ordered it on more than a little faith. I wish there was a retrofit video showing what it takes to remove existing mantle and masonry OR how to cut hole in masonry to remove old fireplace (what I did). Removing the OLD fireplace was the tough, dirty, nasty part. I suspected it would be a PITA and I was absolutely right. Installation of the new fireplace was very straightforward, once I got to that point. I did have to splice in 20' of wire into thermostat harness to put T-stat where I wanted it. Moral of the story--If you are removing a gas fireplace to install this, be prepared for some significant demo work to get the old firebox out. We went with the 220v model to get more BTU output and I am glad we did. The heat it provides is supplemental at best and comes out at top of unit. It will warm a room up, but you can sit right in front of it and still be chilly as heat blows over your head. The room we have this fireplace in opens directly into a hallway and open kitchen. If room were more closed off, I am sure it would perform better. The thermostat looks like a kid's toy, too, with a couple bright red lights on it. It is not a huge issue, but it stands out like a clown nose at a cocktail party. A modern facelift or a flip up control cover (like some alarm controls use) would help. Not a deal-breaker, however. The things we do really like about this fireplace are the clean, modern-ish look and the fact the logs look more realistic by having an asymmetric design. It is a good looking fireplace and that was our main objective. Furthermore, we can now enjoy a ""fire"" with a little kid in the house and not have to worry about hot glass. This is a BIG plus to all electric fireplaces over gas units. As I said, overall, we are satisfied. This purchase was more to have the visual benefit of a ""fire"" than as a heat source.

This fire place is so cool looking. I find that I want it on always, it looks so good on,(looks dull off). It is under my flat screen and I would rather watch the ""fire"" then the TV, it's that good. I am trying to figure out away to add another one to my home, I'm thinking a small one over a bath tub. Color me happy with this purchase. Got the unit installed just in time for the warm weather to arrive, and I'm going to have it on regardless of the outside temp.

This is principally a room heater, and secondarily a faux fire-place. In both respects, it is very good. Moreover, it is one of the very few 220V models (the only power source sufficient for a larger room). I cannot vouch for the longevity of the product yet, but so far very happy.One more thing: Electric Fireplaces Direct is the way to go. [...]

Fitted this unit into my inefficient wood burning fireplace. Was easy to install and hook up to a 240v line, pumps out plenty of heat and the included thermostat and remote is quite nice. The fan is rather quiet but the fake flame motor produces some sound but not enough to be a major distraction in my 13x20 movie room. The fire did not work when it was first installed which was very disappointing. After a couple of calls with a technician a new blower was shipped. Now that the new blower is installed the fire meets all our expectations. My husband is an electrician and therefore felt comfortable removing the faulty blower and replacing it but thought that an inexperienced person would be overwhelmed. If you are going to continue selling this product in Canada there should be service personnel.

I recommend the product, not the support. If you ever need support, Twin Star make you use a support portal that is just fricking terrible. First you have to completely register and fill out a whole bunch of c r a p just to log in. it is almost impossible to find out how to submit a ticket for parts or help. You can't order parts on your own, the response time is 24-48 hours, you don't have confidence that someone is going to get back with you, etc, etc, etc. See for yourself: www.tsicustomerservice.com They way they do business is like going back in time on the internet back to 1997.

This product is easy to set up and looks good, but if it doesn't work for more than 2 30 min heating cycles the rest doesn't matter. I tried to get warranty help but that's a problem. They say they will call back but don't. Its also a problem to just return this product. I would not recommend buying anything from this company.
