Of all the fruitcakes I've purchased, Claxton's Dark Recipe is hands-down the absolute best! A delicious dark recipe reminiscent of rum but without the alcoholic side affects, a firm texture chock full of fruits and nuts with no skimping. As with all fruitcake purveyors, the best time to buy is Thanksgiving through Christmas, so I bought four loaves and am freezing three for later.

I enjoy fruitcake during the holidays, I get it, it's not for everyone. It was always a tradition in my home growing up.(RIP, MOM, DAD) Now Im the only one in my family that eats it, and enjoys it. Its nice to be able to keep a tradition alive, and this is a decent fruitcake, I prefer the dark one, to each his own. Reminds me of Christmas' past. Hope I will be able to keep getting them! They come packed in sturdy packaging, and enjoyed.

Having grown up in Northern Florida in the 50's, we used to take road trips to Claxton, GA. Having eaten my first piece of fruitcake from my Grandfather's Bakery (New York Star Bakery), I found Claxton to be as close to his original.

Lots of dried fruit and fresh tasting for me as I love fruitcake.. this came fast when I ordered it. I was a very good choice taste wise and reasonably priced.

I buy this every year. It's so delicious, it's like Christmas in my mouth! It's way better than the other more expensive brand at an excellent price for 2 pack. Thank you so much!

I like the ratio of fruit to dough. The more fruit the better. It's a good taste for a purchased cake.

I have loved claxton fruit cakes for many years. The taste, moisture and texture is the same year after year. Lots of fruit and nuts.

I bought this as a part of a fruitcake tasting I held at at a Christmas party. People had different feelings, I think, based on what was familiar from childhood. A homemade chocolate cherry won, Grandma's came in second, but some people liked this a lot, too; it is very dense and moist, compared to Grandma's.

I unknowingly ordered the "dark recipe." I had never had this recipe before and just didn't like the taste or texture. I should have paid more attention to the description of this item.
