Clorox Pool&Spa Florida Blue 3" Chlorinating Tablets, 8 oz

I have used Chlorox pool products for several years so I was interested in their new product formulated for Florida pools. The big difference is it also includes stabilizer to help the chlorine last longer. With the Florida sun and rain that is a "must" chemical in our pools. I love this product. I live in central Florida and have a salt generator whose life has lasted a few years longer than normal. To prepare for the day it dies, I obtained Florida Blue chlorine tablets and tested it to see if it could replace it. Each of the ten tablets is 3-inches in diameter and 1-inch thick, and they come individually wrapped. The plastic container they come in is 10-inches long, 6.5-inches high and 8-inches wide. I turned off the salt generator and checked the water balance, which was good. Per the instructions, my pool required three chlorine tablets. I placed one at the bottom of the skimmer basket, held in place by a stone. I placed the other two inside a floater. I opened the floater to its maximum inflow/outflow position. I ran the pool pump three hours a day. I checked the tablets every day. The half pound tablets dissolved slowly. It took about 12 days in humid, hot temperatures for the tablets to completely dissolve. There were two days of heavy rains. During this test, the water temperature was in the high 80s but remained crystal clear the whole time. And the water balance remained unchanged. I'm sold on this product and WOULD recommend it for ANY type of pool. I believe in the long run these chlorine tablets may be a better buy than purchasing a new salt generator. I would make one marketing change to the product: Make it easier on customers and print "10-count, 1/2 lb. each" on the outside of the container. I didn't like having to read the fine print to find out how many chlorine tablets you get. Caution: Even opening the container in a well vented place, I was overwhelmed by the strong chlorine smell. This is a great product but there is one thing that drives me nuts about the packaging. The tablets are individually packaged which makes filling up the pool chlorine dispenser more of a chore as you need to remember to lug your scissors with you. Other than that frustration the product seems to be working as advertised and looking forward to using it longer now that we are in the thick of raining/hot season here in Florida. Works great but my only reason for not giving a 5 star is they seem to dissolve too slowly for my automatic chlorinator unlike other brands. Have to add them to the overflow weekly to keep up with the same dissolve rate. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

These tabs delivered. The pool has never been clearer. Living in the heat, humidity and rain in south Florida, keeping the pool water clear and clear is a challenge. I do have to add a Phosphate remover as well. Possibly you can develop a tab that includes it. By the way, the free sample that was shipped had many broken tablets.
