Easy to assemble with rubber mallet, hammer, and screw driver--less than one hour from opening box to putting stuff on it. Overall good, sturdy quality. Aside from that, it's a shelf...what can you really say about a shelf...hey, it holds stuff real good...and you get to choose the stuff...so, it's a win-win!
This was easy to put together. Is sturdy and you can purchase another to put on top of the first. I wish that had been expressed while the sale was on.
Christmas present that I put together myself & looks great, seems sturdy but I have not yet moved it to its home. Baskets purchased online for a better price.
I have another of these which was perfect, but the shipment received from Walmart, was short a couple of the dowel rods needed to assemble and where drill holes occurred (only in some of them) was the laminate finish chipped and missing. I kept because it was not going to be in a visible location otherwise would have sent back.
This shelf was the cheapest they had, and that is evident. The wooden dowels that hold the shelves in place snapped in multiple places while putting it together. I didn't like that the full back wasn't covered so I bought plywood and made my own, sturdy back. Without this addition I don't know how i would have kept the shelves in place. I was putting this together alone, perhaps with the help of a second person the parts would be easier to maneuver and not break, but I had a difficult time on my own. Spend an extra $20 and buy something of higher quality, in my opinion.
I checked it over quickly and started building it, half way done and the piece at the bottom (of course!) had what looked like a burned/crushed piece on it...Did not happen while shipping but while it was manufactured...So they obviously don't check their stuff before selling it :/ by the time I was done I noticed it was splintering in some areas (and no it was not me, I was super careful) I didn't send it back because I don't have time for that, it looks ok up and will fill in those exposed areas with paint...when putting the little backing on, I gently put a a nail in and one section gave way easily, I it looked corroded...Next time I'll build it myself with real wood
I bought 3 of these and they were aweful. These were thin shelves and one broke while inserting the pegs. Spend a little more and get the better homes and garden brand. The shelves are thicker and unit is sturdier.
I mean for the price I guess you can't expect too much but there were chunks taken out of the particle board where you would be able to see once it's put together. If it would have been covered by storage cubes I wouldn't have mind but it's just cheaply made.
Arrived scruffed up & way to heavy for me to physically return. So, we decided to try & hit knicked up pieces on bottom & back of organizer. Then assembly was difficult & pegs not long enough to support weight. I followed directins to a "T" & it broke. ); Sure wish it had worked out. Now I must figure out how to return. );
I purchased this one and a few other cubeicals models from Walmart. Shipping was very late on all of them and all had to be returned because they arrived damaged and missing pieces. Never again, I learned my lesson!
