(C)Mazuri Bearded Dragon Diet 8oz(12)

This is the first time they have had this and they have been actually eating it. I have extremely picky dragons and although they don't eat it all right now they still eat it.

All I have given my bearded Dragon before was crickets and salad. I got so excited when I received the product for free to test it out and to add something else to his diet. We have been soaking it for now building up to not soaking it how it instructs and he loves it. He eats it all in the morning. I have been switching one-day crickets and one day the Mazuri. I will definitely be purchasing this product after he finishes the bag we got for free. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I received this free to try and the timing couldnt have been more perfect. I was so excited to add a new protein source to my bearded dragons healthy diet and have a shelf stable all-in-one diet option. My goal is for him to live a long healthy life and I know Mazuri is a brand I can count on for exotic pets like my bearded dragon Rex. The Bearded Dragon Diet has a specialized blend of nutrients like vitamin E and Omega-3s and protein to help your beardie stay active and strong. I like to soak it in a little water for extra hydration. I love that it has no artificial colors. I have been adding it to his salads which consist of a rotating mix of chopped fresh collard greens, dandelion greens, arugula and turnip or mustard greens. I also add some julienne butternut squash, green and yellow squash. Rex loves the Mazuri on his salads. This is great to keep an extra bag or two on hand for emergencies as well if you are unable to get live food or do as I do and use it in addition to salads and live food. This is a wonderful product and I recommend it for pet owners who have bearded dragons. It has an useful bag that is thick and sturdy enough to allow product to stand up easily. I use these pellets to mix into water and I need to soak them for over 40 mins in order to help them dissolve the most possible. Has no specific smell, relatively neutral, it has a lot of nutrients so its good. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I actually tried feeding this to one of my box turtles. He is usually pretty picky and doesn't eat food like this. He really likes it! Usually when we try a new food like this, we have to mix it with fruits and vegetables but we did not with this food! I recommend this for picky (non bearded dragon) pets :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

It has almost a weird powdery smell but other than that my dragon did take a couple pellets and ate it. He needs to get used to it because hes used to eating other things but this is fantastic to add fiber to his meals [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Take this with a grain of salt as I was feeding it to frilled dragons. I tried both this and the insectivore diet and i didn't have much luck with it. I'm sure health wise it would have worked out fantastically I just couldn't get them to eat it regularly.

While this food does say its suitable for geckos as well as beardies, my LEO wont touch it. I think its hard to replicate the appeal of live food and thats why my guy isnt even remotely interested. I did try feeding it to him softened with water and without but no luck. I have a friend with a beardie that I ended up gifting this to and she said her lizard seems to enjoy it. My leopard gecko paid no attention to this. He is used to eating live food and I am unsure of this product should be geared towards leopard geckos because everything that I read says they only eat things that are moving. I tried adding the water as the packaging suggested but he still paid it no attention at all. Did anyone else have a different experience with their leopard gecko?
