Ultimate Minimalist Headlamp
The HL3 is perfect! The light has a simple click on and off. There is no cycling thru endless modes. The on/off button is metal and gives you a positive click when turning on and off. The amount of light output is perfect for doing up close work or for walking. The headlight is also easily adjustable to put the light exactly where you need it. Build quality is very solid.

Thumbs-up HL5 & HL3
See my other combined HL5 / HL3 review; I bought both lights at same time.

Awesome little light
My grandkids and I love this headlamp. It throws a nice tight beam that is great for small area tasks but also works well for walking on trails. Battery life is 5 hours with cheap batteries but much better with high quality batteries. Also the warranty customer service is awesome if it ever fails "lifetime".

Good for close jup work
This headlight is good for working in small spaces leaving your hands free. The light is not overpowering, blinding you when you are working close to your face. Good valuse for the money.

Great light
My wife bought me this light and it has been a great light. The batteries last pretty good and will last most of the hunting season. I use it mainly for walking in and out to my deer stands. This leaves my hands free to climb in and out of tree stands or carry my rifle safely. The only reason I did not rate it 5 stars is the strap support on the battery compartment broke and would not stay on my head correctly. But with the life time warranty, it was replaced quickly.

Great light with slight design flaw
Love how light it is, but the wire that goes from the battery pack to the light has came lose. Coast replaced it quickly which is why I always come back to Coast. It is a great light especially when I need some focused light when working on small projects.

Too bright
The unit provides to much light for relatively close work. But it had the lowest light output of your products.
