The whole clock looked so beautiful. I don't see why other people are complaining when they don't have the knowledge to put together a simple task. It's a kit for people who doesn't know, When I got it, I was so surprised that it was BRAND NEW and NOT used. Only took me a half hour to assemble everything. People needs to start rewriting their reviews because this clock is worth the wait. The Instructions was a little tough to read at first but after awhile I got the hang of it . The Clock totally resembles Beauty And The Beast. This Clock came in perfect condition with NO SCRATCHES. VERY satisfied with it. So happy to have a Grandfather Clock after all these years, IT DOES have a Volume Adjustment on it so you can change the volume if you want, It has about 3 or 4 chimes for the clock.
The clock arrived on schedule and securely packaged, I was a little disappointed at first that I had to put it together but the instructions included was very user friendly and easy to follow. I love this clock for the price paid.
The grandfather's clock is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL!! Was AMAZED 👏
There wasn't anything wrong with my clock, I had the clock for about 10 years and the chime was always correct and the clock kept time very well. It was a nice looking clock and it was made as good as expected. We got many compliments on the clock. I really liked it. But finally after all these years the hands stopped working but I can't complain, it was well worth the money and I might have to get another one, but I don't know yet .
Had about 3yrs only have to level after moving it work great only dislike when setting time change back . Look nice and work great
The clock is good when you get close you can see how cheaply made it is. It was a cheap grandfather clock and I like it for now
Surprisingly arrived ahead of schedule. Packaging was excellent. I found it easy to assemble and set the clock as long as you carefully read the instructions. The wood is very cheaply made but so was the cost of it. The finish was very uneven but passable. I found it difficult to clean up the glass because of the tape used on it for packaging. There is still a "tape shadow" on the glass after multiple cleanings. It looks nice and so far works. Problem is if it is anchored to the wall, you can't get to the back if you have to change the time or replace a battery. The clock's base is uneven so I needed to put a small piece under the base to level it on the floor.
We enjoy this clock very much. Everyone who visits cannot take their eyes off of it. The manufacturer used a gorgeously grained Asian hardwood for the sides and the rest is so so. I considered upgrading components, pendulum, hands, etc to redecorate, but the manufacturer didn't use the cheapest so I'm leaving. Mine was beat up by the individual who made it. Several splits and chips in the veneer. For the top drill hole to screw the bezel to the clock tower...the maker needed to make three messy holes for 1 screw. The stain is highly toxic, I was sick for a few days after opening...very sore throat/headache; ran the air purifier day&night. It has a prop 65 sticker. I decided to make it a project even before ordering & Hayneedle's price at the time was unbeatable (up fifty now). I used 1 qt Sherwin Williams top trim paint in satin & cheap blender that I will only use for paint...and mixed in calcium carbonate...chalky style paint. My picture shows 4 coats of paint with Renaissance clear finishing wax over all paint and gold & silver leaf mixed on the bezel rim; scrap booking paper, sheet and cast metal art on the dial decor. The sound is ok I've heard ""collectible clocks"" sound worse. I am afraid the chime will some day blow the speaker. We have it on the lowest volume. It has an auto shut off at 9 pm and we all scurry to hear the last chime. It plays the Westminster on the hour. There are 4 settings to the chime that I have yet to figure out and the instructions do not match. The directions were incorrect telling me to set it for 6:30 and play the first chime then set to each hour waiting for chime; I just set it for 6 am and proceeded. It sweetly wakes me in the morning at 6. The chime helps my boys ready themselves for school. When they hear 8 chimes they call ""go time"". I never have a problem setting the chime or the time. Battery guzzler. We love this clock. I always saw it as a project, I wish it were made better. I never requested replacement from Hayneedle.
The clock did not work. Called company and the man was so nice and said they would send another as soon as possible. When the clock is replace I will be very very pleased.
This was not a good experience, the based came cracked while the box was undamaged meaning they packed it that way. The seller being a third party told me this was a manufacturer problem and still has me waiting 2 weeks later for the manufacturers repsonse.
