I have not had the chance to use my new cooler yet but the reason that I purchased this is that this past summer at a family reunion my niece had a Coleman Xtreme Marine Cooler and a Yeti. I purchased 6 bags of ice to be used for making homemade ice cream. We bought the ice one evening and did not need the ice until 2 days later. When I went to get the ice, the ice in the Yeti was half melted. On the other hand, the ice in the Coleman Xtreme Marine was virtually in tact. I was sold!
THE COASTAL MARINE 6 DAY COLEMAN Xtreme Series !! And when you buy from Walmart it comes to you safe and sound !! This cooler has gone on many trips where the ice lasts longer than 7 days .. in the Florida Summer , out of direct sun.. although UV will not affect it one bit.. Coleman Knows more about coolers than anyone. Tried and Tested and EXCEPTIONAL VALUE !!
My brother and sister-in-law have this cooler and I have always wanted one because it is the only cooler you need at an event for 100 guests. I was so excited that I found this online. The price was unbelievable if you compare the size and price of it to much smaller coolers. I almost purchased two but I do not think I would ever need two. On second thought, I can get a second one to lend out if someone asks because I am definitely not lending this one out.
We bought this to put on our boat. We had normal coolers and ice would last a day. This one has exceeded my expectations. We had ice longer then 5 days. Love the drain plug as it perfectly drains into the bilge pump and out the boat. No more lugging the cooler to drain.
We love this cooler. Purchased the cooler for use in camping with our conversion van. To test it, I used 3 bags of ice WITHOUT any food in our hot garage that was 90 degrees plus. It took 3 days for the ice to melt without any contents. With food, the 6 days mentioned would be a reality! Love the sloping drain inside--makes draining the cooler easy. Lid snaps shut for maximum seal. Bottom of the cooler would hold 4 store bought bags of ice and still have plenty of room above for food. Hinges are built really well and the sure grip handles make it easy to transport. We bought the 5 foot table from Walmart and we had plenty of room for two people to sit on it as a bench in front of the table. I can see that when full with ice and food it will take two of us to move the cooler around. Great cooler!
Five days traveling with frozen fish in the cooler. I did put tape around where it closes When I opened the cooler the ice was still frozen to packages of fish I used a hammer to knock some of the ice away This is a great cooler!!!!
I really love this size of these coolers where I am from we do a lot of traditional ceremonies and these come in handy when you are out in the forests and camping.
This cooler is highly functional! We live in the coastal South, and we purchased it to hold the contents of our refrigerator/freezer if the electricity goes out during hurricane season. The extra large size will be more than ample. We also look forward to using the cooler for boating and camping excursions. The handles are comfortable and the lid securely seals. We are very pleased with our purchase!
This is a decent cooler for the price. The metal hinges are nice as plastic hinges often fail, as is the fact that the lid closes tightly without the need of a latch (which also often fails). The lid is held open with the standard piece of flexible plastic - this can be improved upon as it will inevitably break at one of the attachment points - at the cooler itself or the lid. The plastic handles, though seemingly sturdy, are also a point of inevitable failure after a number of seasons of exposure to the south Florida sun - rope handles would be a better option for both durability and storability in tight spaces. But with many coolers costing quite a bit more, it is a good cooler for the money.
It is a great cooler in every way. BUT, it makes me wonder if it is really sealing at the lid, because every time it rains, I get maybe a cup of water inside the cooler. It doesn't matter if it is windy or not, the rain gets inside. Other than that, no complaints. Any body else have this problem ?
