I love this Coleman 50 -Quart Xtreme 5-Day Heavy- Duty Cooler with Wheels. I keep it in my car when I go to the grocery store I put my cold items in it. It gets hot and very humidity in Florida.
Perfect size for Nissan Rogue camping cross country. Sits sideways in a seat with no issues. I leave in my road trip on June 16. It will cover the desert areas. I will update. The pull handle doesn't seem to be an issue. But I will update on that as well.
This is a great ice chest. The handle extends perfectly, you can adjust it according to what you need. It's a good size not too big. The blue color is subtle and clean, not the sky/royal like my old one, this color is better and this chest won't be mistaken for someone else's because of the pretty blue. Holds plenty, doesn't leak.
Great price and I was highly impressed with the quality of this cooler. Not only did it keep the drinks icy cold after hours in Florida's 90 degree weather, the drinks were still cold the following day! I don't think I will ever purchase any other brand of cooler.
Item was a different color than what was inline but I liked it much better, actually. It was a birthday gift for a friend and she loved it. I chose this because I have the same one and think it's great! The price at Walmart was much better than anywhere else.
I wanted a cooler with wheels, but previously I had only seen VERY large ones with this option. This Coleman 50 qt. fit my needs well. I was dubious about its XTREME ability to have ice last for 5 days and I was right; 10 lbs of ice lasted only about 1-1/2 days during my tent camping trip.
Not used yet but seems solid/sturdy, time will tell. Handle adjusts to size ( i used to be 5'7" but have shrunk an inch as i age lol..the wheels roll, drain plug in good spot, a bit heavy ( maybe twice as heavy as the other 2 igloos I bought ) but thats what should cause it to keep things cooler longer. Shipping box was a joke! The box was twice the size of the cooler and appeared to have been a previous well-used box, taped together all over. Had i been shopping and this was the only one left, I'd have left it. Fortunately, there are only a couple white smudge marks on cooler that was probable;ly a returned item. But very wasteful space - could have fit 2 coolers in the box AND there was NO protective packing inside the box. Just the cooler - nothing to protect it from being damaged in any way.
I do like this cooler. It was recently featured on America's Test Kitchen as a "best bang for your buck" cooler. The one thing I don't like is the handles on the side -- they aren't actually handles, they're molded wedge things that are supposed to be handles......not really useable. Also, just a note -- I didn't realize until I opened it that the wheel wells affect the shape of the cooler -- so packing 9x13 dishes will be tricky with this cooler. Otherwise, great cooler!
I ordered this cooler because it said that the lid was insulated. That is not true there is no insulation in the lid at all. Very disappointed in Coleman. Coleman has always been my favorite in coolers. I was really happy to find a Coleman cooler that said that the lid was insulated and I jumped right on it. It will be a long time before I do that again.
This cooler is going to be used on my boat for a day out in the water. It the description of the cooler it says the lid and body are insulated. They must be insulated with air because there is no foam in the lid or sides at all. you can tell this to be true by tapping the cooler or squeezing it that it is completely hollow inside. The lid is extremely hard to open. I am going to use the telescoping handle to bungie the cooler to the side rail of my boat so it stays put but this is a problem since the made the telescoping handle and lid holding hinge out of the same piece of plastic unlike my other coleman coolers. This think looks like a Chinese knock off. It was cheep so I will give it a try as I have not used it yet but I have serious doubts about ir lasting or keeping ice.
