I keep one on my key ring at all times! this was a replacement for one that was wore out. I also keep a Ferro rod inside my left boot lace as a backup source of ignition in the event I lose my keys.
This striker are a life saver 🛟 Have had it for years we have many of them in all vehicles. You should never be with out them. Works every time nor as fuel needed one strike, and you have fire. It's one life skill we've taught all of our kids never go without one.
Got the Grandson one of these at the age of nine just took him a few times to learn how to start a fire without any paper. He did a great job. The size is perfect with plenty of power and durability. What a great way to share a memory with the young ones.
Works great, very small and portable. I have had one for about a decade sitting in the bottom of my bag and used it last weekend to start a fire when my matches would not strike.
I got this from a friend to take with me on my snowboarding trip. It was super helpful and I was surprised how often I used it. I also brought it to a family trip in the summer and used it when we had a bond fire and for fireworks.
Used many years ago just to show off. And always had one handy just in case it was needed . Works great in a pinch. Takes some time to learn but it's easy enough.
The design and build is easy to use and small enough to slide into your backpack. It's extremely durable and strong. It works really well it's super effective I use it on all my camping and hiking trips!
Stays together starts fire safe its built well so its pretty durable and its small so your able to put it anywhere in your go pack. It works really well
This is your last line of defense in a critical situation -- make a fire. This product works when all else has failed. You also need to have a knife to scrape the metal into a little pile. Read the directions. You also need dry tinder like leaves, paper, twigs.
I have had one of these for 30 years and still going strong. If used correctly it can star a fire in damp conditions. Shaving the magnesium is key in starting a fire in damp conditions. On the survival shows they always try to rely on the striker without the magnesium. They don't realize the sparks start the magnesium and the magnesium burns at 6000 degrees farenheit. Use the smooth side only. I carried it every time I went to the field in the Army and camping with my son in Boy Scouts. He learned to start fires with one of these.
