I used to use this for camping, but haven't camped for years. Came across a tin when cleaning garage and it still kept bugs away after years of not being used, so when it burned out I went looking for another. This is exactly what I had 10 years ago! It works like the original and I'm happy to see that they haven't changed it.
I take these candles on every picnic and anytime I *think* we may be sitting outside. It's the perfect size to throw into a bag - you may need more than one for a bigger group. The scent is piny, but not so strong unless it's been burning for a while. The wick is wood and burns slow enough that it doesn't run out before the candle is used up.
I love these candles! We always keep at least 1 in our camper. I've accidentally fallen asleep with it burning and, thanks to the shape, it was perfectly ok! No tipping or spilling. And the wax cools and solidifies pretty quickly which is convenient to store
I love the way the wick is made. it's wide ,made different from your normal candle wick, making it better to light and withstand the wind better, the Coleman candle has a long lasting burning time even though the can is small, the smell is good, I just wish the can was bigger for the price, and Walmart just went up on the price since the last purchased I've made ,overall the candle works good in a small area to keep bugs at baye,
I lit this and immediately felt like I was camping in a peaceful forest minus the mosquitoes 🏕️🌲 The pine scent is AMAZING. My only heartbreak? It burned faster than expected for the price. I wasn't ready to say goodbye so soon. Still worth it for the scent alone!
Not sure if it was the candle alone or if the OFF area spray was helping but i saw 0 mosquitos after i lit this thing!!!! I saw a couple 10 min after spraying the OFF area spray so that's why i lit this candle and it kept ALL mosquitos away which was insane! Love love love this thing so far
Smells Like Camping, Works Like a Tiny Bug Bouncer I bought the Coleman Pine Citronella Candle because I wanted to enjoy the outdoors without being treated like an all-you-can-eat buffet by mosquitoes. First off, the pine scent is actually really nice. It gives “peaceful campsite” instead of “chemical warfare in a tin can,” which I appreciate. Light it up, set it on the table, and suddenly the patio feels a little more outdoorsy and a lot less like mosquito happy hour. The silver tin is simple, sturdy, and easy to move around, which is great because I like my bug defense portable. It burns nicely, smells pleasant, and adds a cozy little glow while helping keep the flying vampires from turning my ankles into a snack platter. Is it a force field? No. But does it help make sitting outside way more enjoyable? Absolutely. Great little candle for patios, camping, cookouts, or pretending you're a rugged outdoorsperson while sitting six feet from your back door. Would definitely buy again.
Smells STRONG!!🌲Although I wish it was more pine scent than citronella scent. I believe it works. I don't think it's going to burn for as long as the description says - I burned it for like, two to three hours and I'd say it's about half gone. The smell is super strong, some may feel it's overpowering. But it does work. Would probably buy again in the end.
Dare I say this attracted the mosquitos? On everything I love, this made them worse instead of better. This is a waste of money. I am sitting outside with this burning, fighting for my life against these mosquitoes as I write this. Doesn't work.
WALMART is a joke! I'm sick of it! They cancelled my order today. I only ordered 2 items today because my last order was for 12 items and I only got 2 items that I ordered. This is after a long history not receiving my orders. They were delivered to somewhere else. It seems like the delivery people just don't care. I wish this worked better or else they would refund my money. And then you always bother me for a review, well here it is.
