While I have only used this grill 1 time since I received it. I feel like it will be a great grill. It is pretty solid and was very easy to clean up. I keep it stored in a storage tote when I am not using it.
I have only used it once so far and it worked great. The assembled dimensions are incorrect though. I am looking for a bag to store and transport it in, so correct assembled dimensions would be nice!
it is a great product that cost $209 most places, $129 on Amazon, but the Walmart price was $79. One complaint goes to FedEx whose truck was driving away when I got the email that it was delivered. It was not at my house but at my neighbors front door even though the address on the box was correct.
Cast iron grate ensures years of reliable grilling and ready scrubbing with grill brush. Water filled drip pan means easy clean up. However, they need to design a pour out spout of some kind because tipping the whole grill over to pour out greasy water with the cover swinging isn't exactly easy! Everything else about the grill is great. Nice improvement to the decades old classic road trip grill design.
PROS: - Easy to setup - Decent cooking area - Quite powerful in BTUs - Precise flame control - Iron grids CONS: - Description on the website is not really accurate, e.g. it tells the item has a lid locking mechanism, however it does not. Which is disappointing, because I have the very same model but with the integrated stand (legs) ==> harder to carry and lid could easily open itself during the car trip - May not heat evenly, you have to guess every time I would also prefer having a caring bag for the grill: to move to the camp site and for storage. In general, the grill is good for the price, looks and feels sturdy but worth several improvements.
I had originally purchased the Charbroil TRU-Infrared Grill2Go. Stainless grill v was a nightmare to clean. Yes it stops flair ups but at a cost. Had to disassemble to clean. On the other hand This Colman may not look as cool but stays relatively clean due to the water moat and clean up extremely easy compared to the charbroil Only wish it had handles, lock and temp gauge like the charbroil. Installed a temp gauge from Amazon for less than $10. And can live with the rest. Used it multiple times and the cast iron is so much easier to clean. This is a great mini grill and gets the job done. Since im using this camping and my generator is also propane, I also purchased a 5 foot 20 lb adapter hose. Nice to have
Looks great but having difficulty in calibrating the temperature. Would be nice if a temperature gauge was installed in the cover. Heats up very well but I don't know how well. I hope experimenting with it will provide a frame of reference over time.
Our grill came in without a gas regulator which means I can neither use the small propane tanks or the large ones. The grill is practically useless until I return it or buy a regulator. The whole point of my purchase was that the grill was on sale. I don’t want to spend more money than I already did on this grill. Just a frustrating waste of time when you buy steaks and think you’re all ready to go and come to find out you can’t attach the fuel…
Oddly, (like other reviews had alluded to), there is a significant gap between the lid of the grill and the base. With the slightest breeze, it blows out the flame. The flame is quite low even when turned on to max. The grill is ok, but I expected much more from a Coleman grill.
Received item without regulator. Emailed Coleman, got one reply and nothing after that. I emailed them back, nothing. Giving 1 star for 0 customer support from Coleman.
