I had borrow this tent from a friend and decided to buy one of my own. Sturdy and easy to set up. My favorite part is that it fits two people with plenty of room for backpacks and gear. Haven't used in rain.
My first camping trip with this tent was in the Shenandoah Mountains. My group camped for 5 days, 2 of which included serious rainstorms. I'm glad to report that my little tent withstood the rain. When I was packing up I did find a bit of water in the corners, but I'm not sure if that was just condensation or water. Either way, I never got wet, slept well & dry. It's very easy to set up and take down. I like that the instructions are sewn into the carrying bag.
This is a simple, easy to set up small tent. I was looking for a tent for just myself and some of my stuff and this one fit the bill perfectly. Very well made too.
Easy to set up and pack up. The positioning of the inside storage nets could be improved upon.
This simple little tent is so useful and long lasting. The main reason I love it - it's a small packed size, easy to set up (5 minutes or less), and very durable but lightweight material. I received this tent as an anniversary gift from my employer, and it's been one of the best things I ever owned! It's a great packed size - fits in my large suitcase and just returned from an out-of-state camping trip. It's the perfect car camping tent for ONE person (crowded with two, but if you really like the person, it might be okay). My wide exped air mattress fits perfectly, with plenty of room for all my other gear. I've felt roomy enough to do my yoga and night time exercises in the tent as well as read and hang out in my tent when it was raining. The material is durable and long lasting - I do use a tarp as my foot print to keep the tent clean, but I feel it would easily stand up to wear if you didn't use a foot print. Have camped in rain twice, no issue inside the tent.
Super spacious and easy to transport and above all very important waterproof and with a super durability and it is super practical for those who want to spend an expert night to cover the sunEasy to assemble
Compact tent but not the most durable or the lightest. A two person is usually for backpacking or light trips, and this tent definitely had weight to it. In windy or difficult weather the fabric also seemed like it was going to rip / could have been stronger than it was.
Easy to set up in just a few minutes. More room than expected for a two person tent. Easily goes back in the bag for portability as well. Don't recommend it in foul weather, but that isn't a feature advertised so not unexpected. Small Enough to keep in the car for spur of the moment campouts with my honey!!!
Bought this 2 person tent for camping when it's just me (2 is a stretch, even for smaller people). I normally camp in an REI Hobitat 6 that is fantastic and has served me well for many years. Compared to that tent, I have some serious problems with the design of this Coleman. First, the fiberglass poles are incredibly flimsy, as is the elastic cord. The cord broke on the first use, and one of the poles fractured. The description doesn't say what diameter the poles are, so I have to go measure to find the right replacement kit. Why not just sell replacement parts on the product page? Second, the poles go into a sort of key at the edges of the tent. But that means the tent pole are open at the ends. If you camp in sandy or soft dirt conditions, it's easy for your pole ends to become packed with dirt, and then the key won't fit in. Annoying. My Hobitat poles are closed at the ends, made of aluminum, thick cord, and the pointed ends go into sturdy grommets. I wish the Coleman had a design like that, it is super flimsy by comparison. Lastly, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the door pole in. It seems like it should go in the green edging to make the door rigid, but there is no opening. Yet I have an extra pole. It must be the door? Other than the flimsy poles and poor design of the pole ends, I do like this tent. If I could purchase a set of replacement poles in durable aluminum with studier cords, I would pay more.
Pole bent first use. I have contacted Coleman twice now, filled out the warranty application and I have not heard back it's been two weeks. I have always purchased Coleman and love their product. the tent is very nice but the pole should not have bent and split fiberglass and cut my fingers.
