We have re-entered the camping world as older campers....gone are the days of backpacking. Also gone are the days of sleeping on the ground even with a cushion of padding. This cot is a very welcome addition to our camping gear....despite the fact that it is cumbersome and heavy...once you learn the technique it sets up quickly and is a very solid support....no sagging....good solid support for very comfortable camping night in and night out. It's also wonderful to be able to get in/out of "bed" at night with ease!
Easy enough for a 10yo to set up and take down alone.
I haven't used it camping yet but I did set it up and slept on it one night, it was very comfy, I added a 2" foam mattress I had covered in fleece fabric. I like that this cot was wider than most cots since I am a side sleeper. I am very happy with the purchase. I took a minute to figure out how to fold it back up but I got it done.
Great cot, lots of room, easy to set up and breaks down into a manageable size. The only complaint though, like any canvas cot, is that during the night while you're sleeping, the canvas stretches and you wind up sleeping in a "half pipe" but this one is the best folding canvas cot I've found so far. Very comfortable, especially if you add a memory foam pad on top.
I have used this cot for year and several scouting events. I have even tested its limits with four guys at various weights sitting on it. Yes there's some rips in the material but for a cot that I bought over 12 years ago. Its been strong and easy to set up and take down. If your looking for a reliable cot I strongly suggest this
This cot is great. It folds out and sets up easily. It is comfortable and has no bars or tension to disturb your sleep. The side table is a wonderful bonus. Have you tried to camp when you need tissue or water by your bed? It also has plenty of room to stow gear underneath. We bought two of these for many reasons, but the fact that you can stand up from it instead of crawl onto the floor before you can stand up is the most important! One caution though: if you slide the cot the legs may not still be directly under the cot. My husband had cot collapse on one end because of this. The most damage was a big surprise, but still not a good one. If you move it around be sure the legs are still in place before you get onto it.
Pretty solid and easy to setup. It's comfy and plenty of size for kids to use it or for me. The little side table thing is a handy spot to put a phone. Lost a star because when you go to rotate the legs, it likes to get all hung up on the canvas, so you end up having to redo that pretty much every time you set it up. If not for that, would be 5 stars.
This is a great collapsible cot, easy to set up and break down. The only complaint is that because there is no mechanism to "lock" the legs in the open position, by the time you wake up in the morning, you're sleeping in a "half pipe" and if you have a bad back like mine you will be in pain. A better option is the Trailhead cot which does have a locking mechanism, although it still stretches it maintains the tension much better. Go with the Trailhead!
Good cot that can fit a 6'2 190 lb person. It is not light so I would recommend for car camping. Unfortunately, the carrying case/bag for the cot was torn upon arrival.
Got my Trailhead II cot yesterday and put it up today. The set up is easy until you get to the 2nd cross bar. It took awhile for 5'1 and over 120lbs woman. I was expecting a a very solid cot and it is solid but there's a little wobbling when I sat on it, not much, but maybe for a heavier person it might be more noticeable. It is neatly designed. The one that I was disappointed about wasn't the width of it. Listed on the website was 35 inches wide, but what I got is 30 inches total width and only 24inch wide sleeping area. This is important for me because I was looking for a wider cot of at least 32 inches. Though I must say, it's still comfortable to turn to your side if you are a side sleeper, without the feeling of falling off. It's is easy to transport though, it has weight but not too heavy. I haven't decided yet whether to keep it or return it.
