COLLINS IS SYNOMOUS WITH QUALITY
Collins is a well-known name in axes and stands for quality. Not the quality of vintage Collins axes: however, a quality axe. I will sharpen my axe using a hollow ground profile. This is best for cutting wood and works well when splitting. The edge is sloped on inward curves to have a thin, sharp edge which cuts deep and clean. For splitting, this edge profile sinks deep into the wood prying open the wood as the hollow ground area widens and pushes the wood sections apart... Hollow ground profiles split well also. The axe comes with a rounded profile that tends to lodge in the wood because most of the front area of the axe is the same thickness with little force pushing the wood apart. A quality axe that works great, especially when adding a hollow ground profile to the cutting edges.

This axe gets the job done
The price is right. The quality is good. It cuts down trees no problem. Pretty good 👍

professional quality!
After I received this double bit axe I filed both factory edges down to a sharp, flat edge. I can easily cut through 12"-16" trees. The hickory handle takes a beating and is very rugged! very happy I bought it!
