I have coloring my hair for some time now. I decided for winter in Chicago, I should so a darker color. Well, my hair turned out much much darker than I would have liked, so I began to get light dyes to hopefully lighten up my hair. After 3 hair dyes later - nothing worked. I was scared to death to put anything else on my hair. This is when I ran across Color Prep. I read the reviews, saw that it would not further damage my hair, so I tried it. I followed the directions, please do. As soon as I put it on my hair began to lighted up IMMEDIATELY!! Now, when I( rinsed it out my hair was almost back to my summer color with a hint of red and a bit of orange. I used a deep conditioner afterwards and left it on for a bit. I did color my hair again about 2 days later to get rid of the clown color (which looked oookay nahhh, I could have got away with it.). I also ordered Sebastian Cellophane hair rinse, and that worked wonders for tone and shine, Note the cellophane does need heat and keep it 1 tone darker than your hair color or about the same for best results. Happy hair travels.
What a miracle product! Got pandemic bored and destroyed a lovely highlight and lightening job my stylist had done (she was trying to transition me to gray) with a crappy dark brown off the shelf dye job. That product was good I just did a bad job applying it. Anyway, I decided to give this a try and I'm so happy with the result. It's like a light caramel hair color and a strawberry blonde had a baby, lol! I LOVE IT! Just be aware of a few things: 1. If you have long, thick hair, you'll probably want to get 2 bottles. 2. Cut the tip off the applicator bottle first with scissors. Then put on your gloves and shake. When you're done shaking point the bottle into the sink before pulling back your finger because there most likely will be some fizzing. 3. This product is not thick, so be ready for some dripping.
Really works! My hair was getting darker and darker with excess dye on top of dye and I wanted strip it out so bad and start over but I used this and it took it the color that I love!
use it all the time!
great product
I had dyed my previously dyed strawberry blonde hair red and it turned orange. I used one box on my shoulder length hair. I was a little nervous so only left it on for about 20 minutes. It removed all the orange and left my hair slightly yellow. There was no smell, no irritation and no damage to my hair. I colored it the next day with a light cool blonde and am very happy with the results.
Color came out right off. My hairs are short so I recommend use half and use the rest the other day or 2 days later to do another rinse. Smells bad so make sure to use nice conditioners between the intervals. Hydrate your hairs well with intense conditioning before coloring your hairs . My color now look more even and darker then before. If you change colors more often make sure you add color opp to your routine and remove build up every time to get the best results. I dont change colors still I prefer using them once in 6 months . Best value then spending $200 in salons.
Did the job! I had like green grayish ends, what was left from a previous dye. And a really dark red through my whole head. This stuff stripped it all out to my natural brown color. I'm pretty impressed. I did need two boxes because my hair is so thick and long but that was fine with me. I previously have used oops before years ago and this is just like that. Does have a strong smell however it reminds me of a perm. Not to bad just crack a window and apply in a big room. Overall I'd recommend!
I sye my hair frequently, about once a month or two, and i use a lot of both demi and permanent hir color. That said ive always had a great deal of luck using this to clear my old dye, especially when usinf with stubborn colors like a green or pink. I will say if u are expecting miracles than you shoukd look at the Color Oops and not the color prep, as thw color prep is more dor use before re-dye than to try and pull old color off without a re-dye.
I had this shipped, and it arrived with the liquid spilled everywhere, leaving me with no product to use.
