These bulbs were beautiful, full, and very fresh! I had plenty for roasting, using in recipes, and adding to my chicken waterers! The ones I couldnt use right away I tossed in the freezer & they froze well. (Just a note to anyone who wonders about freezing garlic bulbs, you need to be prepared that this will turn the cloves yellow and make them soft. The consistency changes quite a bit but the are just as flavorful and useful as fresh bulbs.)
My friends are great chef so I continually buy it for them. Shelf life is a lot longer compare to what you buy at the grocery store. Not one bulb goes to waste.
I ferment this whole bag of garlic at one time. It takes a while to get the skin off but worth it because it is always fresh and the cloves are a good size. I take a half spoonful daily. Also use it in cooking. Wish it was Organic.
I LOVE that I found a GIANT bag of garlic. I love cooking and use it in pretty much every meal. I also got really high-quality cloves that seemed fresh and flavorful. I'll definitely be buying again
I put garlic and onions in just about everything. I keep these in my onion bowl by my cutting board. This is very cost friendly and adds tons of flavor.
Yummy and robust garlic! Nice big cloves full of garlicky flavor and juicy too. The garlic cloves are full of “life” ready to burst. One of the cloves started to sprout so I planted it in my garden…I roasted a few in my garlic roaster and stored them in a Ball jar in the fridge..I also made the most yummy garlic bread by smoothing them on French bread adding olive oil and grated parmesan cheese…OMG my house could ward off evil but the taste was over the top.
This supplier has to be selling old garlic. Most of the time the cloves have sprouted and that lovely sweet garlic taste turns overly-pungent and sharp. I have grown garlic that keeps in a cellar for a year without sprouting. Why wouldn't a commercial supplier be able to effectively distribute in a timely manner while fresh or at the very least store it properly so it keeps well?
We use a lot of garlic, so we usually buy it in bulk. However, most of the time, about half of the bulbs end up going bad. They spoil quickly and don't have a great shelf life.
terrible garlic... gone are the days of Gilroy, CA garlic, this garlic has teeny tine cloves that aren't even worth peeling. I throw away more of these little cloves than the ones I can use. Also, there is very little garlic flavor in these, you can use 2x as much garlic and not get the flavor you want.
Sadly, the bag I bought was so old I had to throw most of it out! It happens; and since I don't know when the best time of year to buy garlic is I just take a chance I'm going to get a fresh one. They do advertise it as fresh and that is not true!
