Columbia Men's Steens Mountain Full Zip 2.0 Jacket

My son loved his jacket! It fit perfect! He usually wears hoodies so I wasn't sure if he'd like it… but he hasn't take it off… since he got it! … Yay!

I wanted to love this but it came defected and had a hole inside the pocket. The material is great and the hubby loved it but the hole was set us back.

I'd love to be able to recommend this fleece. I'd love to keep buying more of them. However, after owning five of them and having problems with four of them so far, I am likely to look elsewhere for fleece jackets in the future. Positives: I love the fabric. It's soft, doesn't pill up, and it says that way over repeated washes. This is my favorite part of this fleece. Negatives: Out of the five I own, three of them have come out of the dryer with shattered zipper "heads". The zippers seem to be made out of plastic, and just don't last through very many washes. I can still wear the fleeces without being able to zip them up, but it reduces the function. In one of the cases, the destruction of the zipper head also pulled teeth out of the zipper, so that one can't be zipped at all. Of the remaining two, on the first wash a large hole opened up in the seam on the arm of one. So far I haven't had any problems with the remaining fleece, but it's only been in the wash once. My first recommendation to Columbia is to use a better quality zipper in this product, even if it increases the price a little bit. I've never had a zipper in anything else shatter like these do. My second recommendation is to make sure your assembly creates garments that actually stay together. I shouldn't have to repair them after one wash.

Unlike my other Columbia fleece jackets that have the inner liner (which forms the pocket) sown on all sides, the inner liners of these new jacket are not attached to the outer layer along the top edge. The result is that the pockets sag dramatically when I place anything (e.g. a small cell phone) in the pockets. Please advise if I need to purchase a different model jacket to get fully sown pockets?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought multiple of these fleece jackets over the years. The look and fit very nicely, but I have found that the zipper handle always ends up breaking off in my clothes dryer, which makes the fleece difficult to zip up from then on. (There is nothing peculiar about my clothes dryer.) Surely, Columbia must have noticed this problem. They could make a zipper handle that is more durable. Not sure I will ever purchase one of these again.
