I use this to measure the ambient temp. and the temp of concrete. It is used on a daily basis as many as fifteen times in concrete. Have had for a year+ now and hasn't failed me yet. Is completely weatherproof as I clean it after each reading with water by just a quick submersion rinse and then a dry rag. Have had other products but not as good as this one. Will highly recomend to anyone.

Chef of the future.
I have been using these for years in the food service industry at an ivy league university. They read instantly, have a very long (replaceable) battery life of many years, and does not require continuous calibration, as the older style Taylor thermometers required. Thanks to this wonderful thermometer, I remove my pork chops from the grill as soon as it reaches the required 150 degree temperature as to not overcook meats as many people do.

Very long lasting. Mine lasted over 2 years. Not one of those that breaks in about 2 weeks. Well worth the money.
