I very much like this steamer. My first of using one. I like the taste of the veggies and potatoes that I have steamed in it. They are really good. Lot better than boiling in water. Where boiling changes the taste and steaming doesn't. .

it does it's work. Build quality seems ok, expected better quality for the price.

This is my third of these, the first was a gift. It lasted years, and I replaced it recently due to the lid handle having come off. The 2nd was fine, but because of my own mistake, I had to trash it. For this particular item, Oster quality has nosedived. The name "Oster" is pressed into the bottom of the boiler pan, but the metal is now so thin that the name distorts the metal on the -inside- of the pan. The other two weren't like that. Using it for the first time, I found that one of the boiler pan handles is dented. This isn't the fault of shipping, the steamer is completely enclosed in an Oster product box (like you would see on a store shelf) and is firmly packaged. It's always been a good steamer, but I now have very serious quality doubts.

It came with marks inside with steal paint missing

When the water started to boil, the steam shot out between the top and bottom units. As a result the vegetables in the top section were getting very little of the steam and were barely cooked after four times as long as should have been necessary. I would not recommend this item. The stainless steel pans are much more efficient.
