These work pretty well. The units are now plastic as opposed to the metal of the past...easy to put up..a little more difficult to take off.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I buy these for work. they really make it easy to change what needs to be changed with out putting holes in the wall
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use these, and other Command products religiously in my special needs classroom. They don't damage any of the walls or my posters/pictures/etc. They are easy to remove when I need to make a change. I absolutely LOVE them!!!
We have been using 3M Command products since they came out. We have nearly always had excellent results both with stickiness and with removability (you DO have to follow the instructions when removing; pulling out instead of down _will_ damage something). However, TAKE NOTE.; Recently we experienced the "unsticky" problem mentioned in a few reviews. We contacted 3M and they were very helpful in explaining the issue. The adhesive on UNINSTALLED sticky strips has a shelf life. It is about a year. We had bought a box of spare sticky strips to keep on hand and they were over a year old ... and had no stickiness left!! Further, NOTE: The hooks we installed with fresh sticky strips went up and stayed up without a single failure. Also, once the sticky strips are up, they seem to stay up forever. IMHO, the adhesive material takes a set when installed and once whatever chemical reaction takes place, the sticky strip stays put (until removed by carefully following the instructions). So. Make sure your sticky strips are fresh, and install them as per the instructions. I personally use rubbing alcohol to clean any surface I am working with (including the hook) and have had great results. My towel hook has been up for at least eight years and shows no signs of failing. Last month we installed a soap dish in the fiberglass shower and it has been working great. My suggestion to 3M is that they stamp the date of manufacture on the packaging and ensure that retailers rotate stock so that no product "ages out". Finally, note that sticky strips that are not used immediately can be used for other projects. All one needs is a flat, cleanable surface at least as large as the sticky strip (leaving room to pull on the tab) and the object / load cannot exceed the sticky strip rating. I've hung LED lights, signs, a notepad in my car, Lego models, ... well, all kinds of things! Hmm... we're getting a Garvin GPS for our next trip. I wonder ... LOL
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE THEM NO HOLES IN MY PLASTER WALLS WHICH ARE AWFUL TO FILL & REPAIR IF YOU SHOULD EVER MOVE.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I initially just used these to hang the hooks they came with. Now I use the refill strips to hang everything! In the house as well as in the truck. In the truck they hold up clips to clip receipts to. They hold up a bag for putting rubber gloves in. The picture hanging velcro strips even work to hold up the sunscreen in my windshield.
used these to place a chain lock on our back door because my husband didn"t want me to drill holes.. my son-in-law forgot to remove the chain and pulled open the door along with the door casing. Chain lock still intact..LOL So much for not wanting to drill holes..LOL
Easy to stick to the wall and even easier to take off without damaging the wall.
I bought this in bulk a year ago. The first time I used them was shortly after purchasing and they worked great. Fast forward a year, I tried to use them again and all the sticky-ness of them were gone. Had I known they loose their sticky-ness sitting in a box, I would have never purchased in bulk.
I've used command strips on several occasions and never had an issue but I never kept whatever it was up for too long. My son had Wall Tracks up for several months. I attempted to remove the fasteners which are held on by command strips and almost every single one of the pull strips broke off so I had to pry them off which removed a large section of paint from the wall from several of them. My recommendation - only use them for a very short period of time like during the holidays or something.
