I love 3M's new 5 lb outdoor hook. It won't rust and can stand temperatures that most adhesive products would not. I used mine in the sun porch which we don't always keep temperature controlled. It comes with an extra hanging strip in case you want to re-position it. I received this hook free from 3M. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
New bronze colored outdoor hook is more attractive than old green colored hook when no wreath is hung. I was very pleased to see this hook in a bronze color. We had an older, green-color outdoor hook for hanging wreaths on our front door which worked fine. The only problem was the green color when no wreath was hung. Usually in the spring we cannot hang a wreath on the door because birds nest in it. The directions for mounting the bronze-colored hook were, as usual, clear and simple to follow. I was sent this Metallic Bronze Hook and asked to review it. It matches well with my outdoor light fixtures and holds a substantial decorative wreath on the door. I like this hook better than the over the door hook which scrapes the paint from the door frame. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was told to hang my orchids in a pool type enclosure. I chose these command hooks ad they have been holding strong for three plus years now, great product.
I frequently have the opportunity to try 3M products that they send me samples of. I'm especially fond of command products. This time it was an outdoor hook. I was anxious to put the hook to use, but I live in the northeast part of the country and as I write this we are in the middle of our fourth nor'easter storm for the month of March. Today while I was taking my shower, the suction cup hook I hang my pouf on fell off the tiled wall once again. Then I had an idea! I tossed the suction cup and put up my Metallic Bronze Hook on my tiled wall. Yes it's not outdoors but the bath mimics our summmers with rain and humidity. Best part of all-no holes in the tile wall. I'm happy! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I received a free outdoor hook to review. I was a little disappointed upon receiving it to learn that it would not adhere to my home's brick exterior as I planned. This is noted on the back of the package but may be overlooked by someone purchasing it. Upon reading the instructions, I was also concerned to learn that the surface to be used must first be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Since we painted our front door two weeks ago, I researched and learned rubbing alcohol may loosen the paint there so that use is out for me too. It is good to use in the garage though to hang my umbrella. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[Employee of 3m-command] I bought the "outdoor" metallic large hook that holds up to 5lbs. I put it on my siding to hang a sign which didn't weigh near 5lbs. and it hung well all day into the night. About midnight I hear this crash noise outside and I find my sign on the porch & the hook about 5 feet away. Besides being scared hearing the crash; I was certainly disappointed this product did not stand up. I followed the instructions but I am thinking it was warmer during the day (78) and the temp went down (57) at night which cause it to fail; it hung fine for about 12 hours. I have another one I hung on an interior door and that one is fine; no problems. Will be calling Command during their business hours.
I used the 5 lb command hook to hang a lightweight wreath on my new door. I followed all the instructions. It was great for a few weeks, and the the hook and wreath fell off. I assume it was because the space between the storm door and the actual door can become very hot in the afternoon sun. I purchased another hook, and made a consistent effort to keep the inner door open in the afternoon. The second hook still fell off. I have to assume the adhesive melts in the heat. What's the answer here?
This lasted about 2 days on my door. Prepped the surface, pressed it on for a minute, left it to cure for 24 hrs, but no amount of prep can save it from warping from the sun, I suppose. Certainly not "outdoor" (since it didn't even with INDOORS) nor tolerant to the temps posted on the box! Warped not only the decorative hook, but the plastic part underneath as well. This even happened in the winter... in Indiana just from the sun streaming in through my storm door.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought command strips and I can't even get them to stick to the wall. They used to work really well anymore they're terrible. They're not cheap and they still don't stick. So disappointment
