Because this coffee is smoother in taste than "French Roast" coffee, and it took a few weeks to get the mix of grounds and water just right. By smoother, I mean it does not have what I will call a mechanical / burnt like taste, that my "French Roast" coffee has (20+ years). (I did not know my "French Roast" had a mechanical / burnt like taste until I tried the "Private Reserve Espresso") I was expecting a big bold, open my eyes, type of experience with "Private Reserve Espresso"? Does not happen for me. But this smooth (high quality) coffee is a pleasure to drink. Just does not have that big kick I was expecting. I would compare the "smoothness" to a great whisky. I will stick with the "Private Reserve Espresso" because of the smoothness / quality.

This month I tried the Espresso. This is a great coffee with full flavor, like my Espresso out of the machine. I used the handbrew filter and the coffee tasted great. If you like coffee with a rich, dark roasted taste, try it, it is great.

It is a very dark roast. Tastes great. But I am thinking a tad over priced. It seems it should be priced the same as the regular coffees sold by Community. Just my opinion.

It's a great reminder of home. Some of the darkest most aromatic coffee around.

Rule #1 ( French press is most necessary ! For a dark roast expresso , surprisingly Not bitter! Rule#2. “ refer to RULE#1

The flavor is very will suited for espresso, but the grind of this product is too coarse for an espresso make to function as intended. As a result the steam and water pass through too quickly to develop the characteristics of espresso.

This is the smoothest espresso I've ever had! Most have that slight bitter acidic end but this is silky smooth with no acidic ending and still has the caffeine kick you're looking for!

Great natural addition to the Community line. Obviously other Community fans think the same, as it was out of stock on my last online order! Has become a favorite in our household.

First of all, I'm not an espresso fan but sometimes adding it to my regular blend gives the coffee an extra kick…..and I am a huge fan of that! The Private Reserve Espresso is top shelf!
