great machine

Thomas November 14, 2025

worked great on stumps, fired up on fist pull out of the box. plenty of power but the throttle needed tightened to maintain speed. It is a well built machine and a good price. after the 19 stumps I have are ground out if will more than paid itself .

Small but decent

Leonard September 8, 2025

I bought this small stump grinder knowing that it was going to take me longer than just renting one for half the price. I tried it out on a few large stumps that were below the surface. It did well. If you've ever run the large industrial ones that swing back and forth, this doesn't do that. You'll need to hover the machine and move it side to side. It's not difficult. What I did notice is that if the stump is higher than halfway of the spinning wheel, it's going to be impossible. Cut the stump down as low to the ground as you can. The machine needs its own weight to help push down. The one thing I don't like about the machine is you have to have the handle compressed in order to start it and run the machine. The wheel spins constantly. The second you let go of the handle the engine turns off. It would be nice if it had a clutch to engage the wheel and keep the engine running. It doesn't. But for the price, it's fine. I have a few stumps on the other side of a creek that I need to grind. I have a small bridge that's about 10 feet above the creek. I can't get the large industrial grinder over this bridge. It's too big. I have around 12 stumps to grind, not to mention a few exposed roots on my front lawn. I also plan on using it as a trench digger to bury some electrical lines. This machine will pay for itself in less than a week for me.

Great Buy!

MLSE7 September 14, 2025

I think this is an good buy. My grinder does have a weld that is broken; therefore, I will be returning this one. Since there is not an option to get a replacement, I will have to re-order. The breaking of the weld may be a defect. I hope that it is just the one that I currently have. Once I receive my replacement, I will try to update this review.

This works very well for a homeowner stump grinder. It does the job. Youre going to need blades. They get dull fast. Very easy to put together. Worth the purchase.

drill a small hole in the fuel cap so the engine won't stall, tank has a problem venting. Change oil very often to get the metal shavings flushed out, other than that it's decent

Works but has it's ups and downs

Charles April 14, 2025

It does work, not real easy to use, but for the price it worth it. Biggest complaint is the belt is not properly tenstion and is way to tight, Had to move the motor forward all the way forward. also there is no safety to stop the cutter when you release the blade drive, it will spin fast for several minutes from centrifugal speed.

Decent Stump Grinder

Alex April 24, 2025

For the money, this is a decent stump grinder. I read reviews and listened to advice about the belt tension being too tight, which I too found to be the case. Spend the extra 15 minutes loosening the belt by moving the engine forward a quarter inch. I've only tested the stump grinder on one hardwood tree stump that was around a foot in diameter. Despite the size and density of the stump, I was able to get it flush with the ground in under 10 minutes. The stump grinder is fairly efficient once you get the hang of it, but it does require a fair amount of effort on the user's part too. The unit is solid and all metal construction that was assembled in about 30 minutes. Some reviews I read also mentioned it being difficult to start when it's warmed up. Although I have only limited usage with it, I found that it started very easily cold, but did take 6-8 pulls and choke adjustment when warm. I smelled a bit of gas when restarting it warm so it seems the difficultly users are having is from a carburetor flooding issue, which can be addressed if necessary. All in all I'm happy with the purchase and feel that it will pay off versus wasting money on equipment rental fees.

It does a great job The only problem I have is it gets hot and shuts off after about an hour of use

this machine looks great in pictures, but the belt that comes on it is extremely low quality and will break the first time you use it. it is also an odd size belt that is not stocked at local small engine repair businesses. the grinder teeth are very cheaply made and not comparable to the teeth on most other manufacturer's stump grinders. the valves on the engine are incorrectly adjusted. the electronic safety switch in the handle of mine was faulty straight out of the box. the entire belt tensioner system was incorrectly adjusted straight out of the box which probably contributed to my bell braking as well. and the entire design of the clutch system leaves a lot to be desired. my advice would be gather up a few hundred dollars more and get something from a more reputable manufacturer or a used machine from somewhere. this one is not worth the trouble.

Stump Grinder

MICHAEL August 1, 2026

I saw a lot of negative reviews and was a little hesitant to purchase this one. I had zero issues with the stump grinder after moderate/heavy use in one week. I used it on two moderate size stumps and a lot of large embedded tree roots. The key to using this stump grinder effectively is to not have the blades touch down causing the belt to prematurely wear or break. Position the grinder over the tree stump or root and glide the blades across or down. Tilt the stump grinder up in between going back in to continue.
