with Jason Momoa playing the lead role, you can't go wrong
Great movie
excellent and thank
Everything was good
I bought the DVD for my son for Christmas. that's what he asked for so I don't know what the movies are like
was what I ordered and got it fast
Best Conan ever. I love Jason Momoa.
For those who have loved this character for decades,as I have;for those who are new to Robert E. Howards legendary barbarian;and for those who just love a good,slam-bang;root-for-the-hero,hate-the-villian;actioner, THIS is the movie for you!! Trust me!! Why take my word for it? Briefly, here's why: Christmas,1972. I had a severely broken ankle and been fired from my job.Johnny,my big brother & best friend since the 1950s and his wife gave me a bunch of books as my gifts.I don't recall the others because one stood head and shoulders above the rest:"Conan"! One read & I was hooked. From then on,I devoured all things Howard;all things Conan voraciously.Years passed. Many trajedies - inluding the untimely death of Johnny's wife in an accident followed. But two things remained constant: our friend- ship and my love of Conan.During those years, attempts were made to film the character for the big and small screen. Each had it's own merits. But the essence of Robert E. Howard's Cimmerian remained elusive. Writers came and went;publishers came and went. I continued to read it.In part, because, since he was not only my friend but my boyhood hero, I always pictured big brother as the character. They had similarities both physically and,in personality. For me,Johnny was Conan. That's why I went into the new film with no small degree of wariness. Two years before its release,I lost my best friend. Thus, the movie had its work cut out for it...And I am thrilled to say it rose to the challenge and then some! This is the Conan I fell in love with in '72! This is the spirit;the essence of REH's incredible creation. The casting throughout - large role or small - is spot on. The photography; the costumes;sets;dialogue;even the music, does not disappoint! And looming ominously above it all is the presence of Jason Momoa. No small task.Yet he thunders through Howard's world embodying the character - a character as iconic as Fleming's Bond or Doyle's Holmes - as if he was born to play it. Much like Craig's 007, if there's a false note in Momoa's performance, I fail to find it! Along the way, the story makes subtle nods to,not only - and most especially,Howard's original - but to Marvel's Conan of the '70s;Dark Horse's current Conan; and even Milius' film of '82.And the extras? They aren't just thrown together stuff you've already seen on 'E' or "REELZ', this is all new and extremely entralling in its own right.I had a major emotional investment in Nispel's "Conan".And it paid off HUGE! This isn't a movie to rent. This isn't a movie to watch just once. This is a movie to own! If you love the character or the genre or just a hugely entertaining actioner - or you know someone who does - then it's time I shut up so you can run out and buy it! You won't be sorry!
we liked this movie it was as good as the first one
Bought it for the hubby he loves the Conan series, yet to watch
