Concern 97185 25 Lb Weed Prevention Plus® for Lawn Care 8-2-4

I live in East Texas between Dallas and Shreveport, and I am sure as for most folks, weeds are always a concern and a regular on the to do list when it comes to keeping a nice yard. We have 9 grandchildren who come over regularly and two dogs that are mostly in the back yard. This product being all natural gives us confidence that we are not unecessarily exposing people and pets, (along with our plants and flowers,) to poisons that could do harm to more than the unwanted weeds. Concern Weed Prevention Plus contains 100% natural ingredients, allowing children and pets to play on and use the lawn immediately after application. There is no fuss about waiting, watering, watching or worrying about the potential effect of harsh chemicals and poisons. The primary ingredient: Corn Gluten @ 82.00 by weight, works by inhibiting the small feeder roots of weed seedlings, causing them to die off before having the ability to become established. Ideally this product is used on established lawns/turf grass as a natural pre-emergent herbicide coupled with slow release fertilizer: Bone Meal @ 4.00%, Potassium Sulfate @ 8.00% and Wheat Middlings @ 6.00%. Do not use this product on recently seeded lawns as it may prevent germination of the new grass seeds, and can be applied anytime after the first mowing of newly seeded lawns. Also, do not reseed the treated areas for a minimum of 6 weeks after a single application of 10-20 lbs. per 2000 square feet. One bag @ 25 lb. will treat 1,500 square feet. This region of the country has no shortage of weeds, and keeping them under control and/or eliminated is an ongoing chore. I am always a bit leery using the harsh poisons all around my home as the environment is a big concern of mine. As listed, this product is effective against dandelions, smooth crabgrass, clover, quackgrass, barnyardgrass, curly dock, green foxtail, giant foxtail, creeping bentgrass, shattercane, wooly cupgrass, purslane, annual bluegrass, lambsquarter, black nightshade, orchardgrass, black medic, redroot pigweed, velvetleaf, catchweed bedstraw, buckhornplantain,.......AND MANY OTHER common garden weeds. Our Southern grass in East Texas is primarily St. Augustine, Bermuda or a mixture of both. And, like most folks, keeping it in good condition entails staying after such multitudes of unwanted weeds. Concern is not only good for lawns, but also around roses, flowers, vegetables, trees and shrubs. Preventing the weeds while getting a fast greenup without the toxicity of many other products on the market is the preferred method for us. I think most people would agree. We have heard the stories of the toxic runoffs from herbicides and fertilizers having such negative affects later on not only in the soil, but in the groundwater, rivers, streams, lakes and the whole environment. Using effective products that are natural and that don't harm our environments makes good sense and allows me to make my contribution in that effort. I am particular about my lawn so I was happy to see a new, natural option from Concern. The 25 lb. Weed Prevention Plus uses natural ingredients to prevent annoying dandelions and crabgrass from interfering with a lush, green lawn. I like that it uses a blend of pronounceable and familiar ingredients to help me strengthen my lawn more naturally. It is easy to use and the bag covers a large area. It has been effective so far and I am impressed with the results. I am hoping if I continue to use it regularly I will have a healthier lawn all year round.

It's kind of hard to review this right now, it's one of those that time will tell. Seems like it will be a good product. The area I'm using it for is under a shed with no walls. The plan is to keep the weeds out. It will cover a nice size area as well.

This product is all natural, great because I have grandchildren and a dog. I love how it kills the weeds, and my flowers are unharmed. Not only does it eliminate the weeds it nourishes the grass. Worth checking into. I believe you'll be happy with the results.

Very easy to use and spread. You can use your hands to spread it on your lawn or around bushes, gardens, etc. or you can use a seed spreader. I can say though, after spreading it across my lawn, I noticed the birds eating it. Not much I can do about that but I'll have to wait to see how well it works at eliminating weeds and dandelions. Definitely a product I need in my yard because of the many dandelions we have and get every year and I'm glad this product exists to help in eliminating those pesky unsightly flowers. An entire bag was enough to cover my lawn (about 1600 sq ft). I did lay down extra in a couple of bare spots I have. I don't own any pets but this product is safe to use around them as this seed doesn't contain any harsh pesticides. Overall, seems like a great product and would probably lay down another bag here in a few months.

This is amazing it kills so many grasses and dandelions can't list them all.Not only does it weed for me it add vitamins and potassium to the soil which is awesome so we put it all they garden before we plant.You can throw it to broadcast it or put it in a seed spinner so very easy to use and all natural so we have animals and we don't have to be worried!Definitely amazing stuff.Works for trees shrubs and plants also.

I already had weeds in my yard when I spread this so it was a little late for prevention, but after a few days most of the dandelions have disappeared and no new ones have grown. I would purchase again.

I applied the All Natural Weed prevention plus to lawn the same day it came. Gave it a good watering and watched to see the results. In the past 2 weeks my lawn has grown thicker in areas where it was semi bare and less crab grass and clovers has come back. I will continue to use again to see how showcase green I can get her looking weed free. Thank you for allowing me this chance to get a healthier looking lawn.

Hoping this will help reduce the weed growth in a certain area of our yard, and unlike other products I've used, this did not burn our lawn. We love the wildlife that hangs out in our yard and knowing that this is a safe product is an added bonus. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a safe organic product to take care of the weeds in their yard.

I am part of the Walmart Spark Review program where they send me an item in exchange for a honest review. So far this weed prevention plus seems to be working. I spread it all over my lawn when I first received it about 2 weeks ago and it's killed most of the crabgrass and broadleaf. The product consist of little pellets. My grass is also starting to look a little greener. I need to get some grass seed now tho because my lawn is looking sort of patchy because of how many weeds I had.
