COOK WITH COLOR 4 Qt Collapsible Salad Spinner Fruit Washer with Colander, Black

I'm impressed by this salad spinner! The vendor was a ProSeller, fullfilled by Walmart. It arrived in 2 days, Packaged well. When I took it out of the box, there was 3 pieces in the box and it was only 3 inch tall. There was no real instuctions, but I just pushed on the pieces and they popped right out to full size, about 6 inches in hieght. Very nice. I washed the pieces, put the strainer part into the bowl, put some lettuce in it, put lid on, and pulled the handle, and Whoooshh... it was actucally fun to pull. The handle was easy to hold, the string slid smoothly, it did not snag or grab. I took the top off and my lettuce was pretty dry, a few glistening drops were seen but not soaking or making the lettuce wilt. My lettuce did look cleaner, I lifted the strainer out of the bowl and there was a good amount of water in the bottom of the bowl. It did the job pretty well. If it was a score of 1-10, I would give it a 8 for drying the letttuce, but its the best Ive found so far, because I havent found ANY salad spinner that drys 100%. I think its gonna work great when I was my Parsley and Cilantro. It was easy to use, easy to clean, and I love the fact that it colasped back down to 3 inches in hieght.

This is perfect for saving space. Fold down mechanism to fit in cupboard. Great for fruits and greens. Sturdy handle for spinning.

this is an amazing little spinner! I think that I would have gotten a different style had I known that this is upholstering it's kind of like when you start your lawn mower that's how it spins.. wish there's nothing wrong with that but I'm just wondering will the mechanism hold up with regular usage. it looks very sturdy and I have no reason to doubt that it will hold up but I wonder about the string if it will get wet and degrade.... but I want to be clear that has not happened I've only used it a couple of times and it's working brilliantly. The Price is Right and I like the white color... I really wanted pink but it wasn't the right shade of pink but I didn't see the shade that I wanted. and the white is just absolutely beautiful! great price and it works fabulously!

This is a very nifty item to add to your kitchen. It allows you to wash off your fruits and veggies with a fruit and veggie wash. Then you spin the veggies around in the spin cycle and it rinses off most of the excess fluid and dirt particles to give you the feeling of eating clean fruit and veggies. The excess water lands in the bottom of the collander and you can just dump it out. The spinning takes place with the pull of a string. For those old enough to have owned a Toro lawnmower, You pull on the string and it sets the whole process in motion. It's kind of fun to operate as you watch the contraption spin around and around. It's particularly good for green leafy vegetables, which are known to contain the most amount of residual dirty residue. It makes you feel like you are doing something very positive for your health and well-being. I have read that even though the bag may say that the product has already been rinsed, some stuff remains. Spinning the produce around and around in this nifty device gets the product in the best form for eating clean food. This product was recommended with the most recent "lettuce" recall. Using the veggie wash along with this spinning device gives you the cleanest safest, food you can eat. The base of the product has rubber on it to keep from sliding. Have fun spinning away!!

The COOK WITH COLOR 4 Qt Collapsible Salad Spinner Fruit Washer with Colander gets the job done! It was priced well, and collapses, and doesn't take up and entire shelf in our kitchen cabinets. The spin dry works pretty well, and my only complaint would be that it doesn't have a drain at the bottom for immediate water removal. The benefits of it collapsing far out weigh the slight inconvenience. Plus it means you have a large collapsible bowl if you need one in a pinch to serve the salad.

I like having my salad greens dry, not dripping wet and this spinner does a good job getting a lot of the water out. It has 3 separate pieces: top w/spin mechanism, inner colander and bowl. It has a handle on top that you pull the string which turns the spinner. Reminds me of how my Dad had to pull the cord to crank the lawn mower when I was a kid. LOL. I was amused with it. It also has a spot to push if you want it to stop spinning. I had a to try hard to straighten the bowl out to its full size as it was pretty stiff and my arthritis was not helping me a bit. It folds down to a few inches tall to make it easier to store.

Was expecting something lighter. It works well but, at least in the beginning, you really need to follow the directions.
