My sisters and I love this champagne, because it is not too sweet and not too dry, but just right. We love the fizz, too. In fact, we often choose to drink the champagne over cocktails and beer even during non formal get togethers. It's a great price, too.
Delicious Sparkling Champagne, and it comes in such a large bottle, any couple would love to share a bottle or two for the night.
Used this for Mimosas on New Years Day brunch with friends! Mimosa was great but the clan downed the rest of the bottle with gusto!
Extra large bottle of champagne, great for celebrating with loved ones. I asked how much our friends thought I paid for it? They said if it was less than $30, we should have bought more. An excellent deal on a tasty champagne.
I admire Cook's for their adding a 1.5 liter magnum size. It makes things nicer when serving guests, and the Sam's price cannot be beat. As for the taste, it is middle of the road as sparkling wines go, but for better flavor the price tag leaps way above what Sam's charges. Frankly, it is excellent for everyday use, and I really enjoy making Mimosas with it. Add fresh squeezed orange juice and a decent splash of Triple Sec and brunch is pleasantly magnified. The flavor also isn't so dry that is can make for stomach problems for us Boomers. It is a good value, and I recommend it for home usage on a recurring basis. It is not pretentious in the least, just a good, solid sparkling wine perfect for a glass or two with dessert, or an enhancement to a brunch with a few friends.
Nice big bottle, dry and lovely bubbles. I buy this frequently and have no idea why 3 out of a case of 6 bottles exploded when opened. Not a little burp but a full blown fountain, making a terrible mess in the midst of a party and losing about half the contents. I know how to handle, store and open. the store is 2 miles from home. These were not shaken, bottle was held firm as the plastic cork twisted. Hopeful this was just an anomaly.
I used to love getting magnums of Cook's champagne at Sam's Club. However, over the last two or three months, I have lost 1/3 to 1/2 of every bottle because it gushes out when I open it. I typically refrigerate it for a week or more before opening. I do not shake my champagne at all. I don't know if something has changed in Cook's bottling process or if there is extra rough handling in transit, but it is not a good deal when one loses up to half of every bottle. Good champagne, would be a great price if I got a full bottle.
For whatever reason, every bottle we have opened over the past few months have fizzed up (some shooting 2-3 feet up) and literally half the bottle is gone when its done fizzing up. Rhe bottles were not shaken, they have been sitti g a long time. They were cold. Opened the same way as we've been doing for years but something has changed. We open them all outside now.
Upon opening 2/3 flows out all over the place. If you want to have a champagne spraying party this is for you.
Bottle is filled with too much gas!! Had to use pliers to get the cork off; then the cork goes 30 feet in the air and 1/3 of the champagne overflows. DANGEROUS!!! Not just one bottle either. Numerous bottles...
