A/C worth every penny spent. Cools off entire 1st floor in a 1500sq home. One thing to mention "Timer On" and "Timer Off" are 2 different features and setting. If u set a time limit for "Timer Off" A/C will remain off for that set interval before turning on. Holds alot of water empty ever 3 days depending on use and comes with rubber drain plugs imported toprevent leaking. Im happy with my purchase (Buy 3 year warranty u neverkno!!)

Great and Entirely Worth it

OldHippieDude October 21, 2023

Far exceeded my great expectations! Wonderful in every category! Quiet and efficient! Fine workmanship, even attractive, as portable units go. It's a heavy bugger though, so enlist some help, unless you can bench press hefty and cumbersome objects with relative ease! I recommend it if you need a great portable heat and air unit! Thoughtful design. Worth the money!

Like a portable mini split! wow!

Clint September 19, 2022

I made the mistake of buying a single hose portable AC fom Lowes over the summer. I almost immediately took it back after discovering how much humidity and extra hot air it sucked into the rest of the house. Then, I settled for a small black 8000btu Midea window unit from Walmart, which works perfectly, but it's inverterless design leaves it at loud, louder, and leaf blower fan modes while it's running. It wasn't a suitable choice for running it, other than supplementing my central AC on a schedule as needed. In comes this unit! - it's almost too good to be true. It has a clean modern design, and the dual hose prevents the negative room pressure issue. The icing on the cake was the fact that this was inverter driven, and is a heat pump! I hooked it up to a window in our dining room in a matter of maybe 10-15 minutes, and set it to 70 degrees while the central air conditioning is set to 73. This thing is so rediculously quiet when it's not under a large demand. When room temperature is satisfied it's WHISPER quiet and still blows 55 degrees out the top at a slow speed. The compressor and internal fan are both variable. The internal fan can be adjusted from 1-100% in the app, or you can choose from low-med-high-auto on the buttons on top. The fan that controls the "outdoor" coil is not adjustable, but appears to be somewhat controllable based on the AC demand. If it's too loud (watching TV for example), you can slow the indoor fan and it will quiet down the second fan shortly afterwards. For most cooling capacity I suggest leaving it on auto and letting it manage itself. The exhaust heat measured 128 degrees! This thing will literally pump out some heat! I've never been very excited about spending this much money on an AC, but wow! The old school inverterless and single hose air conditioners really give these a bad reputation from the start. I would say this is easily the CLOSEST thing you can get to having a mini split in your apartment (without making unapproved modifications/landlords approval). Highly impressed. Another quick note - it appears this is also made by Midea as it is just a rebadge, but the other similarly shaped units were lacking the heat function. I also couldn't use the C

Works great

Charles July 1, 2024

Cools the room down quickly, fan a little loud on high but not overbearing. If set to auto fan mode it gets quiet once room is at temperature set. Remote displays Chinese symbols, but can still set temp and turn on/off with the button. The phone app works great and gives total control. Overall, great purchase.

What a hassle...

JD August 15, 2024

My very old swamp cooler broke done in the hot month of July. Decided upgrade to give a portable a try, so placed the order. Fedex tracking statement said unit had been picked up and was in their possession and in shipment processes. One week went by and Fedex tracking remained the same that they had unit and was in shipment so I remained patient for another week. Fedex track stated the same so I called WM customer service and they sent an email to vendor and told me to wait another 48 hours and if not responded to, to call back. 48 hrs later and nothing. Called WM customer service and they called Fedex and was given the excuse that the unit was lost in shipment. WM stated that the vendor would get it to me in 48 hrs. We will be patient and see… Well the day the unit was to be delivered the vendor called and wanted to know since the unit was lost in shipment if I wished for a refund or ship another unit??????? Wow… no one is on the same page through this all. If this wasn't such a good unit (I hope) and priced right I would cancelled so I told her want it, send it asap please. Called WM customer service and was informed there was nothing they could do. L I just wished there was a negative star rating available. AC arrived week later, intact and works well above expectations. I believe it was worth the hassle…

Missing Parts and Remote is in an Asian Language

KatrinaLianne September 2, 2023

The A/C looks like a nice unit but was missing several of the mounting parts for a traditional hung window and the language on the remote screen looks to be an Asian language… despite the buttons being in English, and there is no info in the manual about how to change the language, so it is useless to us.

Not worth it

Nirmal July 17, 2024

We setup this unit in our new apartment. It worked fine for a day or two. then the compressor started emitting a whirring/buzzing noise whenever it was in cooling mode. really intolerable and we couldnt sleep well at all. Acommpanied with draining copious amounts of water and further noise, this unit is not worth buying.

Junk

Stacyo November 14, 2023

This worked ok for air conditioning but has been a nightmare for heat. It has leaked into the floor despite hooking the drain up correctly. We originally were going to empty it as needed but it never alerted us when it was full like it is suppose to. The pan spilled over into the floor twice soaking it. Worried about it rotting the floor we installed the permanent drain option and it still leaked from the drain in the bottom of the unit. We've had it for a few months and it has been nothing but trouble. The worst part is that it was purchased at Walmart but through a 3rd party vendor, who has been no help at all. We have called, but got no answer. We have left messages and go no return call. We have sent messages and gotten no response. We also ask Walmart to get in touch with them and still have yet to get a response from this company. At this point I'm hoping they'll see my review of the $500 piece of crap they sold me and help us so that we have heat this winter.
