I purchased this cable organizer to hold a 100-ft. 14/3 extension cord that I use on a leaf blower for the 400 feet of driveway at our hotel/resort property. Pros: The 100-ft fits easily in the organizer. I love how the organizer spins and unspools itself with just a slight pull as I work the leaf blower down the driveway. I no longer have to deal with storing and using a tangled mess of extension cord. I'm a commissioner for our local fire department. This organizer works so well that I'm going to recommend that the department buys them for all the extension cords in the fire hall. Con: My wife had a hard time figuring out the right way to rewind the cord after she used it, so when I used it next, the cord got shorter when I pulled on it instead of longer. I had to unwind the cord on one side of the holder and rewind it in the opposite direction for it to work again. No big deal, and she'll get it right the next time now that she understands how it works. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I loaded 100' of 12/3 cable on it without difficulty. I interpreted the instructions to say that you can wind up both ends (from the center of the extension cable) at the same time, but that created all kinds of kinks and twists so I ended up just doing one end at a time (but both being wound up in the same direction). Each end stays on its own side of the reel as there is a divider inside. I left a few feet at both ends. Plugged it in and yanked on the other end, and as designed it slid on the ground and unwound from both ends as needed. Center ring has rubber around the opening for the user to hold it there when rewinding the cable. Not uncomfortable to use. I'm satisfied with my purchase and don't see why this item shouldn't last a good long time. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I bought two of these at a county fair many years ago. They have served us well. No piles of tangled cords. My husband says the cords twist, but he's okay with that. They weren't perfectly kept before the CordPro. Now we have more cords, so we needed another cord pro. (Once you get the hang of winding the cords on, it's really easy. We hang them on a nail on the garage wall.
My son and I each have 12/3 gauge cords 100' long. Most reels don't quite hold a cord that big and heavy, but the CordPro does just fine. Just follow the instructions to set it up properly, and it works well. The company's video shows someone plugging the cord into an outdoor receptacle, then plugging it into a tool and pulling it across the yard as the cord unwinds. That might work on smaller cords, but ours have a lot of weight. So, just pull the cord out with one hand as you go. Winding it up again turned out to be easier than I thought it would. Plus, you can hang it up on a hook; something I can't do with my other reels. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
