Core Innovations CTCB105 Over the Air Digital TV Converter & DVR Box

Excellent upgrade to previous non-HDMI output units. Three 'quality levels' of outputs available depending on your monitor/TV input capabilities: 1) HDMI (very crisp and clean video), 2) phono (acceptable but not as good as HDMI), 3) coax (use as a last resort, not crisp, not clean). Front display on unit is easy to see but slightly confusing. On screen display is much more informative.

I had the same converter box for probably 10 years now and it started to go bad. So this is just a replacement for my old one that served me very well. I get about 99 channels with this box, but I probably only watch about 4 or 5 of them. And any of the channels that have ample strength, which in my case are most of them, you will view a great picture. If you live in an area where your TV signals are weak, it's going to affect the clarity of the picture. It's well worth the money if you have an old analog TV set. I would highly recommend it to anyone having an analog TV that gets stations over the open airways.

its really a great little unit !! so simple to set up and easy to use. this converter box works as well (and probably better) than the higher priced units !!! I GIVE IT AN EASY 5 THUMBS UP

The set-up is simple. Programming isn't too terribly complicated either. The latest units still have an annoying habit of rebooting 2 or 3 times a day. This latest unit holds it's programming if power is cut off to it, whereas the older units had to be reprogrammed anytime power was cut off to it. Yes, this is the 3rd or 4th one I've purchased over the years. Think I should upgrade one of these days...LOL

hooked up easily where my old digital convertor was that went bad. The core innovations has brought in stations for me close to 50 to 60 miles away in 120 degree out different towers. I like that it list what your schedule is and the remote seems to function reliably. It scans for channels easily and seems to function as advertised at least in my circumstance. I am so glad walmart had this as it allows me to watch some of my favorite sports with an ota antennae and older magnavox tv that would not accept digital signals without the core innovations digital converter.

Set up of recording programing difficult. Clumsy software. Turns off unexpectedly after recording. Had to purchase USB to actual have storage for recording.

Though it had a good picture quality I didn’t like that it had a mechanical voice that repeatedly said STEREO STEREO STEREO each time I pressed one button to adjust something. Also the front of the unit did not show the channel number. Rather it showed the sequence number of the channel on the unit. Navigation was strange and frustrating.

The first one I bought stopped turning on. I thought it might be a fluke so I bought a second unit. Now it doesn’t power on either. What a waste of my money. I never pay for the insurance on items I buy. I just don’t buy from that company again. That is what I have decided to with this company.

I do not recommend this to anyone waste of money. It stopped working completely. It went out within the first couple weeks and I’m fixing to do a return I was planning on doing so anyways because a couple weeks we have had it ain’t picked up but one sometimes two of our local channels and I think we had a total of three-five channels altogether it would pick up. We did better with our regular antenna.

It is just cheaply made equipment that I know will probably fail the first time a lightning storm goes by... Why? Because this is the fourth (4th) piece of equipment, like this, that I have ordered... It is cheap to get and convenient to get but that is what Walmart seems to cater too...
