It was so easy to use, even for this senior citizen Granny Nanny! I originally had family 8mm film placed on VHS for future generations. As we all know, that technology is going the way of 8mm! Now the family film is safe on DVD and I did it myself! Thank you so much!
This was easy to install and set-up to vcr. I do wish there was a way to transfer quicker to computer, but I love the fact that I can transfer straight to my computer than burn to a DVD in the future. I just recently started using this and am yet to discover or use other capabilties that this product has to offer. I have VHS tapes that are over 20 years old and they transfered without any issues.
First, I want to say that this works well. It will convert your VHS tapes to a digital format; However, the file is usually too big to be burned on the average size DVD (4.7GB). It would be better if you saved it as an ISO file, then convert it to an MP4 and stick it on your hard drive. Or if you want it on a disk, you'll have to edit the video to make it fit. It's slow when you have tons of tapes but it's worth it.
This device is a great idea and works fine. There is a 3-6 second delay when playing the VHS on your screen with the Vidio and Audio but when you play back after recording, it looks great. Advise to take breaks with mutiple taped moments, Also to fastward and see what is ahead so you dont spend a hour watching something expecting it to end in a minute.
I like the features. But, the video conversion part started working ok for about 8 conversions. Then, it stopped working. Also, the Sound Editor for LP conversion workd only with the red right cable sound. I switched cables, but still only had one side of the sound converted. I do like the editing of sound features. Now, I did contact Coral the manufacturer and they had me try different things to possibly fix this. But, no change occurred. I did ask for a replacement because the converter unit was hot and perhaps was defective. -ray
It was difficult to learn how to use this system, though in looking around the internet I see there are books available for this purpose. You can transfer movies to your computer but some of those recordings would need another translation software to make them play on a DVD player which is what I wanted to do. That software would be about another fifty dollars. After I bought the system for $83 dollars from Walmart on line I was looking for translation software and found Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus at another well known online site for $38.50, then I found it on my Walmart shelves for $60, that is when I found out Walmart online does not carry the same competitive price guarantee that store sales have.
Wish I had bought another Brand. The tech support is great, without it I would have taken this product back to Walmart for a refund. after a week of back and forth emails with tech support I got it working. still has a problem every once in a while but I seem to be able to figure out.
Unusable on my computer with windows 10. It's supposed to be designed to work with windows 10. The program actually froze my computer, which I then had to restore. Do not buy!
I bought this program to copy my VHS movies to DVD. I have a desk PC that is only 2 years old and a new laptop that is less than a year old. This software will not work on either one. It says it will work on Windows 7 but it will not. I did get my money back from Walmart but I would not buy another Roxio product. If you want to copy VHS tapes to DVD purchase a Honestech product.
I used this product about two weeks and had numerous problems within that time. I repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled the software. It finally got to where it would not record any of the videos. I contacted customer support several times and they did not respond except to tell me my inquiry number. I definitely would not buy this product. I have since replaced it with a Vid box.
