This is the most amazing dish I have ever owned. I used it on a camping expedition in Alaska, I used it to chop firewood, in fact I also used it as a reflective mirror using sunshine to start a campfire. I also used it ward off a wolverine attack with it, to put it simply it is a lifesaver!
I love to get up and cook breakfast for my family in the mornings, I'd always wanted a serving plate but felt that they were too expensive for my budget until I found this one! I love it and the quality it amazing, it's big enough to put a stack of pancakes or french toast :)
I've owned these platters for many yrs. They have survived a 33 yr marriage with frequent use. There's not enough space to write how great this product is. It's very usable for all types of foods or events. Plus if you have a large meatloaf it will fit on this plate perfectly. Even my new husband loves them so much we bought more in the plain white. I would recommend it for any family.
I absolutely love Corelle dishes! They are extremely durable while being lighter than stoneware, ceramic, etc. I have carpal tunnel, elbow/shoulder issues with numbness %26 tremors, so I was having trouble with the stone ware dinner ware %26 my heavy crystal dishes. I frequently drop %26 sometimes uncontrollably throw things that are in my hands, so having the break resistance of Corelle dishes saves me money in the long run. I have only broken 1 Corelle dish %26 I switched to them 30 years ago. It just happened to land on an upwards facing fork in the sink at the right angle to break - I have dropped them many times over the years without breaking them too. They are dishwasher safe, so easy to clean. They stack nicely in the cabinets too. My old stoneware %26 thicker crystal dishes were so much heavier to lift %26 to store in an upper cabinet. I've liked Corelle since I was a kid back in the 1970s as my friend's mom's used them. I have a few different designed sets %26 only a few of the pure white pieces. I have my original set %26 my moms original dinner settings %26 serving bowls, platters, glassware, %26 other accessories to match. I also have plain colored rims with various add on dishes. I even have matching canister set, casserole dishes, salt/pepper/sugar dispensers, etc to match. I have platters to match the 2 full sets, but these are my first completely white platters. We use them for pizza night, pancakes, French toast, roast %26 vegetables, etc - for serving %26 as individual plates if we are watching tv while eating so we don't have to pause %26 go back to the kitchen to get more food. I have many sizes of the various plates/bowls. The platters are a nice oval shape %26 a good size. They are much easier to fit in upper cabinets than large round serving platters. I recommend trying Corelle all the time. They are easy to use, easy to clean, easy to store, etc. Their lightness makes them great for those who have hand/arm issues, for the elderly %26 younger kids, etc. I do truly love these dishes! I try to pick them up during sales, but they are still worth it even at regular price. I'm on the Iron Range in northeastern Minnesota %26 surrounded by taconite mining. Corelle dishes use American Steel in their production, so they are popular here where the minerals are mined 224/7/365 %26 everyone is either related to or knows the miners. We definitely support Mining %26 products made from those materials.
I have a whole set of Corell dinnerware. It is so much lighter than other dishes, which is much easier for me. I was so glad to find the 2 pieces that I bought at Walmart. The prices were good, and much easier to order online and it was delivered this morning -- right on time! I was glad I checked to see if you carried the items! Thanks Walmart!
This platter goes from freezer to microwave to dishwasher. I usually hand wash because it gets used daily. They look fragile, but are sturdy but look very nice. They stack well and make carrying meat for the bbq much easier. Yes, it gets washed after the raw meat goes on the bbq.
We have had two of these platters for years and have used them as dinner plates often. Wanted more but price was way too high. Walmart came through with a wonderful price and I bought 4 more immediately! Shipping was free and super fast ! These are great for a buffet dinner where guests serve themselves and sit around, casually, in the living room. I've been a Corelle lover for over 40 years and their quality remains top notch today. Extremely pleased!
Corelle Dishes were in every kitchen . Made in the USA in New York state. It is disappointing to see Walmart removing the classic dinnerware from Walmart Shelves to only be sold online. Corelle dishes are thinner but clean more effectively in the dishwasher. The dishes stack easier requiring less cabinet space. The classic white dishes are my favorite. The food adds the color to the plate.
WHAT I WOULD NOT DO IS RECOMMEND ORDERING THROUGH WALMART!!! THIS EXTENSIVE GROUP ORDER FWAS TO HAVE BEEN A HOUSEWARMING GIFT AND WALMART HAS SCREWED IT UP SO BAD THAT WE ARE STILL STRYING TO STRAIGHTEN IT OUT TWO MONTH'S LATER!!!! THE RECIPIENT IS STILL ATTEMPTING TO GET ITEMS RETURNED AND REFUNDED THAT WERE WALMART CANCELLED AND DELAYED AND THEN DELIVERED AND THEN THREATENED TO CHARGE US FOR RETURNS. THIS IS THE WORST WALMART EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It split in half the first day I used it. Our everyday plate is Corelle winterfrost pasta plate. I use a knife to cut my food and it never breaks. This oval one, I am not sure if it was made with the same material as the pasta plate because it split in half when I just cut my food with not much pressure.
