Mind at ease. Having two of these bear spray's increases confidence for taking that walk in the woods. Combo pack so that more people in your group can be protected and the holsters are easy to use. The safety wedge is a great idea, and easy to remove when needed for use. I recommend you practice drawing, removing the wedge, and spraying (not actually spraying, but simulating it) so that you will be prepared if needed. Pricing was good. Made in USA is a huge win.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do a lot of hiking in the woods on Florida and black bear and other nasty critters can be encountered. As protection I had usually carried self defense pepper spray but never liked the range of it and questioned the efficacy of it against animals, so when I had the chance to try the Counter Assault bear spray canisters I pulled the trigger. This bear spray has some serious range, it was a little windy (my first mistake) so the best range I could get was around 30-35 ft. Note I said it was windy, if possible MAKE SURE you know which way the wind carries as I got just a little blow back due to a wind change, and WOW, this stuff is serious. As I said I got only a little blowback and man the capsaicin they use is HOT! I immediately teared up and it burned pretty bad for about 10 min even with water to try and wash it out. Now I am no bear but I see this stuff as being pretty effective, even worse than any pepper spray I have experienced in testing other products. This is a great bang for the buck!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great to have for camping or hiking and just to keep in your car for in case something happens. I feel safer having them. Luckily I haven't had to use them yet. During a test spray I was able to see how long and powerful the stream was. The holsters are great for carrying around, they attach right to a belt or to a backpack. I do recommend them.

We had been hiking a lot up in the mountains and I thought this would be great to have on hand just in case! I did practice spraying it because I wanted to be sure I knew how to use it if I needed to. Wasn't hard at all you just have to be sure to remove the safety or it won't spray. The range it stprays at is a good distance but be careful because the mist does come back at you some! My husband was standing there with me and we coughed and felt it in our noses. We were fine no worries. This says to deter bears but, it's like a pepper spray so I feel it could be used to deter anything or anyone from me if I felt I was in danger! Of course use with caution these are not toys or things to joke around with, the mist is very strong and should not be used inappropriately. These do have the safety things as to not spray accidently and it glows in the dark so it's easily seen. These also come with holders and can be slid onto your belt. We haven't had to use it but you never know I feel more safe having it just in case! Come spring and summer and we will start back hiking again.

Depending on size of canister. A must have if adventuring into bear country. I will be purchasing a few more for our camping supplies. I feel everyone in camp should have one.

The product was sent from Kentucky with a statement that it was made in bear country by a surviving victim of an attack. I live there and we don't have a bear problem!
