PERFECT! I have been putting my kitchen scraps in a plastic cottage cheese container. It was too small, smelled, and scraps stuck to the inside. I researched and learned that a carbon filter would help the smell. I knew I did not want a plastic tub because I knew scraps would stick. This stainless container would be easy to clean. I did say this is perfect. It is; however, I really did think I would need a 1.3-gallon capacity. Well, I was wrong. It is a tad big for my countertop, but it holds a week's worth of scraps and it doesn't smell. Hope this helps.
Excellent compost bin for kitchen. I bought it to replace my old one because i wanted one that controls the oders. It does that,looks nice and is a good size
