Perfect everyday without worries about whether I still have lipstick on. Very helpful to an eighty year old. Makes me look alive. I still wear my make up. Everyone tells me I don't look my age. I wear it cause I feel better about myself.
This lip stain is my never-fail, always performs, favorite, best friend, stand out lip product! If you put it on correctly it will stay All Dayy. Might even be there in the morning, if you don’t exfoliate before bed. Make sure your lips are clean and dry. All the way clean. No residue from anything. Get a magnifying mirror and a good light. Withdraw the applicator wand, make sure it has a decent-but-not-too-much amount of product on it, scraping into the tube if there’s too much. (After a few uses you will figure out the right amount!) Apply to all parts of your lips at the same time, just go around quick to spread it out. Now start drawing and shaping the edges. You are going to blot, so push the lip stain that’s thick on your lips to the edges and draw borders quickly. If you draw “outside the lines” you can quickly wipe it with a dry tissue and firm pressure. If it sets or dries, don’t try to remove it without makeup remover, as this will make a mess. The whole process of drawing the edges should take about 30 seconds, and now you need to blot firmly onto 2-ply tissue. It will probably stick to your lips, and that’s ok, just let it dry there. Now ou need to keep our lips apart and let the lip stain set for a minute or so. After it is set, if you have a bit of tissue stuck to your lip it will come off with a splash of water, or just get your finger wet and wipe the tissue off. Now you can apply the glossy top coat, or leave your lips matte. You can even choose to use carmex or chapstick. The lip stain will stay put unless it gets oily and friction, either by rubbing with a cotton ball and facial oil (or coconut oil, jojoba oil, makeup remover, etc.), or by eating food with oils or fats in it and the lips experience friction, like they get rubbed on a napkin, straw, or fork or just by touching your sandwich. Trust me. If I took this much time to type a review, it must be a pretty worthy cosmetic product!!
I have been using this product and shade for years and am still wholly satisfied. I am constantly asked how my lipstick always looks as if I just applied it. Most days I put it on after showering and may use just the gloss at some point during the day. I love the Canyon shade! It stays on with the exception of eating greasy foods that touch the lips. No smudging or transfer during hugging or kissing!
PRO TIP - do not, I repeat do NOT apply the top coat. Save it and use it for ChapStick, but do NOT APPLY it on top of your color. If you do, the color will wipe off as soon as you eat or drink anything. When you use the color only, it will last all day and I have never experienced dried or chapped lips after using this product for over 10 years.
This lip stain is my “go to” every day for all day lasting color! I have people ask me all the time what I wear that my lipstick could possibly last me through a meal. My trick is to put regular lipstick over the lip stain (instead of the gloss that comes with it) in a similar shade and blot lipstick twice. Make sure your lip stain is dry before adding the lipstick. What it comes down to is the stain does the bulk of the work, maintaining its color and staying power throughout drinking water all day, and eating at least one meal! Try it! :)
what I dislike is you don't show me the number on this color I go by all the numbers because a print I think I don't even know if it has the color but I use 140 538 940 621 626 and you just show a picture of the shades really bad colors don't look anything like that
Outstanding staying power. A little hard to find a shade. I'm light skin red hair, canyon and nudes work well for me. Can be very very dry w/o the balm that comes with it. Note: seems like minty chapsticks make this come off. Also watch out very easily ends up on teeth and will show on your draws, some glasses. In general tho, wears really really well!
This has become my go to lipstick. I love the added moisture layer and it really lasts. I don't need to use lip liner with it, which I really appreciate.
I got 130 Rosie. it looks like a pretty nude-ish pink color in the picture here. I got it and it's fully purple like deer meat or a human organ or something...I didn't even need to put it on to see that it looked nothing like a "Rosie" but much more like what MAUVE MUSE looks like on here. but it's definitely 130 Rosie, it just looks nothing like the picture. fully purple. I hate it and I'll never wear it. the Dusty Blush color is nice, I bought that in store and it's decent enough, pertaining to the shade.
I've bought this lipstick 3x, 3 different shades. one in store and the other 2 I ordered here online. the 2 I bought online BOTH are not anywhere close to the shade shown on the pictures. it's literally false advertising. I bought "130 Rosie" first on here and it was full raw deer meat purple, I thought it was just a fluke and I tried another. this time(pictured) I ordered "555 blossom berry" this time. tell me how this is the same shade advertised in any way shape or form. this is the second time I've had this happen in a row. This is the deepest purple ever. they should just call this lipstick line "the purple problem by covergirl". my advice is to go in the store and look at the tube yourself and don't order online because it's the definition of false advertising. idk why they'd do this but the shades arent even close to advertised. if you notice, the majority of the reviews here are people who have gotten the lipstick from a gift box, they didn't get to choose their shade, so there was no expectation of what it should look like. I believe this lipstick would have about 3 stars if it wasn't for all those promotional reviews. and this picture is after I've wiped it 3x trying to lighten it so it doesn't even do it justice of how dark it is.
