this is the best charcoal. we normally use Kingsford but I tried this because it was on cheaper and 10lb more than Kingsford. we found that it burns longer, has a better taste, and seems to burn at a more consistent temperature. we saw it being used on a bbq tv competition so I had seen it before. I figured if its good enough for competition it must be good and it is.
I do plan to purchase more of these charcoals. They burned a long time and did not have a fire like smell. I'm glad I try this at the great price. They were at the time that I purchased them and I look forward to getting another good deal on them later this summer thanks for creating a very good charcoal to burn while i do plan to purchase more of these charcoals. They burned a long time and did not have a fire like smell. I’m glad I tried this at such a great price at the time that I purchased them. I look forward to getting another good deal on them later this summer. Thanks for creating a very good charcoal to grill with.I appreciate minimum ashes when it’s time to clean up. I use leftover ash in my garden. Nothing is wasted, not even my time.
Switched to Cowboy after using Kingsford for years. Kingsford burns up too quickly and has become so expensive. Cowboy ignites more slowly versus Kingsford but other than that the performance was solid. Sparks a little bit that’s expected since it’s got hardwood in the briquettes. Will buy again.
We've now been grilling with Cowboy Charcoal into our third summer now, and have found it a better value than the formerly used higher priced name brand (won't call the name, but think "Queenschevy" lol). We like the twin pack (tho Walmart only delivered one in one order, but promptly got the second order to us, not requiring a pickup of the single one as compensation for our hassle). It lights quickly, adds a good open fire flavor, and burns a good while, as compared with higher priced brand for us.
Never use this product before, but I'm tired of Kingsford just burning up. I've tried the lump charcoal as well. I don't like it as well as I like this good product.
This is excellent charcoal. The large briquettes stay hot for longer than other brands. I’m not sure there’s a reason to mess around with any other charcoal when you have this available.
Coals burn for a few hours and is a great all-purpose coal for grilling and smoking. Great Value, highly recommend if you have a lot of people to feed!
Bought these at a great price. 40lbs. for $17. What a deal! These briquettes are huge and last a good while. So long big name brand! Will buy again. I also received both bags unlike others claim.
Seems to burn well, price wise, everything is higher than it should be, although not a bad price compared to some other charcoal, pretty decent quality, although several smaller broken up chunks, but it all burns well
Coyboy briquettes light easily and burn consistent. they work great for low temp cooking. I find that they don't get hot enough for high temp cooking though. i like charcoal that gets over 500F for that. But for everything from hot dogs to brisket, these work great and you can't beat the price.
