I love this size strainer and it is made with fine mesh as I use to sift over food when making gravy. i have used this as much simpler than trying to use a big sifter. I have always done this for a long time and I needed a new replacement and this is what I like. I have told my friends for years to use this method as it works out very well. This product the mesh was moldable so I believe it will last a long time.
I have this little mesh strainer from Craft Kitchen. I have had so many mesh strainers over the years. This one seems like it will last me a long time. Most only last about 6 months or so. They get crushed in a crowded drawer or stolen by my kids for play kitchens and then smashed. The mesh on this strainer does still feel like it could be smashed and crushed, but it would take a little bit of force. The strainer itself feels really sturdy! I love the rim! It is nice and wide. It would fit perfectly in a glass for straining tea! That is the main thing I use a small strainer for. There are a couple of other awesome things about this strainer. The little lip on the far end of the strainer to help hook it onto the glass or container is super handy! I love that addition. Most are either cheap plastic or flimsy metal that break and bend. This one is not! It is a decent thickness and sturdy. The handle is the other nice thing. It is also sturdy and it appears the handle is full tang (I am probably wording that incorrectly. I am not a professional chef.)! I love that! Overall, this is a good strainer that I feel will last a long time!!!
I got this to have since I have a larger hand held mesh strainer and for some things I thought it would be good to have a smaller one on hand just in case. I am surprised at the quality since many products are being made quite cheaply these days. I have used it for sifting powder sugar, fishing out tea leaves when the tea bag broke and sifting spices and powders. It works very well and I'm sure in time it will be used for other things.
My wife uses this to sift powdered sugar onto the various desserts she bakes. It is well constructed, and for a strainer, it's fairly easy to clean. I recommend it, especially for the low price. I would say it's definitely comparable to more expensive models.
I've been wanting a small mesh strainer for a while now, and this one is great. It's sturdy and just perfect for my sugar and cocoa powder. I feel like a chef decorating my deserts with it. Even my diet banana pancakes look fancy now. I'm happy with this product.
I have used this strainer for multiple things. Loose leaf tea, decorating cookies with powdered sugar, removing eggs from boiling water so they don't break, I also used it to remove chicken bits after boiling a whole chicken and wanting to use the broth. It is dishwasher safe, always a plus I'm book. It's pretty sturdy so far, it's held up to everything. I like the size, it's been pretty convenient to have. It has a sturdy loop to keep it stable on bowls or to hang it.
This is a very well-made kitchen utensil. The mesh is superior to the punched stainless kind; water drips out more cleanly and it's more flexible. However, some materials can get stuck in the tiny mesh. But it works great for washing small fruits (like blueberries) and sifting powdered sugar (make sure it's dry!). The stainless steel collar gives a lot of strength and a bit more straining room. It holds about 3 ounces. The really nice thing is the large handle. It has a great smooth feeling-- but looks like wood. Three rivets attach through both sides. It is the sturdiest small strainer I've ever used. I don't think I'll need to exercise the lifetime warranty.
The CraftKitchen 3" strainer is a nice quality made kitchen utensil. It has a tab on the end to hold onto cup or pot. There is a hanging hole on the end if needed. The handle is super nice however it isn't balanced and is very heavy and will not stay on top of cup or bowl without tipping so you have to hold the strainer as well as the hot water for tea or coffee; this is why I gave it 4 stars (see pictures). I do not recommend it for regular grind coffee as many of the particles go through the strainer. It would be best to use it for loose tea. It is dishwasher safe and the strainer itself is very rigid and seems like it will last a long time.
Nice little strainer when you need to something smaller for say sprinkling power sugar on a treat or as they list using it for straining tea into a cup...with it fitting perfectly on most normal size coffee mugs. The strainer is made of steel but does seem to have a finish on it to help with rust so should hold up over the years. It does have a lifetime warranty but no information on how one would go about claiming the warranty as the marketing cardboard says very little, so the lifetime warranty feels more like a marketing blurb. Unfortunately, I don't like where it is made, companies need find more US trade friendly manufacturing countries and I know for many this is important which is why I mentioned it
No real review. I bought it by accident. I needed a ‘ball,' actually, which encases the Loose Tea Leaves. I am give/sending it back, when I get a chance.
