Perfect product and priced perfectly

Joe March 5, 2026

This does exactly what it promises — strong hold with a natural matte finish. The texture is easy to work through hair, letting you shape and rework styles without leaving an oily or flaky residue. It holds all day for short to medium lengths and looks natural in photos and in person. The scent is subtle and not overpowering but honestly people say it doesn't have much smell once it is in your hair. A little goes a long way, so you get good value from the jar. Maybe a pea size dab, work back and forth in your hands and run it through dry hair.

Fantastic stuff

Pietro May 12, 2022

Fantastic hair clay. That right balance between soft and firm right out of the container. A little warming between the hands and it applies wonderfully. Shapes and holds all day and even reworks (like actually does) if needed.

Only product that works!

Angela F August 4, 2026

My husband has tried every clay pomade in the big box stores. This formula is the only one that has worked for his hair! Grateful for this product!

very good product

Dr Blues May 17, 2022

good stuff. Works and doesn't make you feel like you've got plaster of paris all over your head. Far better than any over-the-counter product I've tried. Cheaper too (b/c you don't need to use much).

Long lasting hold with minimal shine

Devin April 1, 2024

I bought this despite the negative reviews and can now wholeheartedly recommend to anyone on the fence. I applied it as soon as I woke up and then took a nap later, woke up and brushed my hair a bit, and my new style was held in place. The hold is still firm as I'm typing this nearly 16 hours after applying it. My recommendation for applying is to take a shower before work. When you get out, dry your hair a good bit, but make sure it's a little damp still. Immediately apply the product to your damp hair and style it. You'll have to be careful not to mess your hair up for the next hour until it dries completely, but once it dries, you're locked in. Keep in mind I'm a guy with almost a mullet amount of hair and volume (haircut is coming soon lol) so if it can keep my hair in place, it should have zero issue keeping short hair in place. The attached photo is how much product I used for the application, so it should give you a good idea of the amount per use. Sidenote: Some reviews were complaining about a chemical smell, so I smelled the product, and it didn't really have a smell at all, so I'm not sure what these reviews are referring to.

Good product but…

WalmartCustomer January 6, 2026

I gave it 4 stars because my son loves it and it's his go to I would have given it 5 stars but for the price we pay for this stuff it should really have a protected cover on it. People at the stores stick their fingers in it and then put it back and we buy it. I think that's gross. I don't know where their fingers have been and then my son or anyone else who buys it goes rubbing it in their hair. I know products can shift around when in transit but you can actually see someone's finger prints in it. It is a good product it makes his hair look in place but free at the same time. He has dark brown hair slightly wavy.

Shrinkflation %26 came used

Beck July 31, 2026

First, it used to be 4 oz, and now they've dropped it to 3.4 oz while keeping the price the same. Second, product came used, someone swirled their finger in it.

Not a match for my hair

Brandon April 12, 2023

I've been trying Cremo's other hair styling products ever since they discontinued the Sea Salt Texture Cream, and none have been quite what I need. I found this product very thick and sticky, difficult to apply, and ultimately unsuitable for my hair type and style. Even if I get it to kind of work in the morning, by the end of the day my hair turns into wispy clumps that don't hold shape... it's just not working as intended for me.

Should come with a protective seal 🤦‍♀️

Nicole June 8, 2026

Someone must have decided to “try it” in store. I went to try it on my son, and the was a chunk missing from the center.
