This is an upgrade to my Cricut. The box came damaged. I will be making sure this product is in good condition and only the box is damaged. Overall I know this is a good product
So many projects you can make on this Cricuit Explore 3. I am about to do the Glass Etch project using stencil and I'm so excited! It's quick and instructions are easy to follow. I would recommend looking up YT videos on how to get the best use of your machine for a beginner.
Holy cow. I knew I'd enjoy this, but didn't appreciate how much! It's SO much fun, and once the creative juices get flowing, there's no stop. I love, love, love it. I debated on which machine to get, and have no regrets with this over the Maker. I might have made a couple of things on the Maker, but I also don't think I'll miss the extra capabilities.
I had the very first Cricut. Where you had to have a keypad, and cartridges to work the system. This is by far, a huge upgrade. Theres definitely a learning curve with design space. But thanks to Youtube. It's easy to figure out.
This machine is faster and quieter than my explore air 2, but is does not always cut through everything the first time (i.e. cardstock, laminate sheets, cut and print iron on sheets). I am using the blade that came with the machine. I have changed blades and used new mats, added more pressure, and calibrated the machine (again) checked for updates. I labored over making this purchase and I am very disappointed in its performance.
I purchased this item for myself as my own Christmas gift LOL with a single mom of three you rarely get to buy something for yourself. I was so excited for it. between moving to a new home and not having a very of my own for a month put a damper and be opening the cricket explore three until a few days ago opening I noticed that the housing blade was never there along with no digital content and no smart or start our materials except for one little piece of black paper when I say little I mean little LOL I contacted Walmart's customer support and the one thing they want me to do is return it. It's stupid to do that then they could just provide me with the material that is missing (the housing blade and digital content, which ever comes with it,) and everything would be fine. I want to keep the item and I don't want to return it. I wish they would just accommodate give me what is supposed to come with it instead of making things so difficult. if I am going to return it, I would have to order another one. if I order another one, I fear the same would happen, or that there's nothing left and it's out of stock either way it's a lose-lose situation. That's why my review rating is a bit low.
Brand new out of the box and I paired it with my laptop. DONE! THEN I tried to cut out a design and it gave me a "CRITICAL ERROR MESSAGE" and to restart my computer and my Cricut machine. It also froze up my mouse. Did what it said and I tried to cut out my design 3 or 4 more times and every time it would do the same thing. Contacted Customer service in a chat and was told me to turn the unit off, unplug from the wall and unplug from my laptop and let it reset. OK... done! SO... I tried it again and it gave me the same critical error message. Ok... I'm done! taking this thing back it must have some kind of defect.
I didn't even get to give this product as a gift because it never arrived at my home. I contacted Walmart and they denied my request for a refund so that I could go buy another one and nobody even contacted me. I had to consistently contact them to find out what was going on and no one could give me a clear answer. This was the worst experience and on top of that I lost out on a lot of money. I will not be doing this again.
This was my post For all those wondering if they should get the new explorer 3… DONT DO IT!! Just got the explorer 3, I also have the maker. I LOVE my maker!! I needed a second machine. The explorer 3 is AWFUL. The maker is faster than the explorer 3. I have done comparison tests. (Like with a stopwatch) Apparently you have to use the smart vinyl to get that “speed”. The smart vinyl is poor quality, very limited colors and is expensive!! The design Space software for all cricuts is TERRIBLE! But the explorer 3 with the design space forces a crash, app shuts down in the middle of the cut. When sending to the machine, the software freezes, you have to close out the app and restart. (Yes, my internet connection is high speed, new iPad and software is up to date). Additionally, the machine randomly turns off, like it has a short! Also the cut compared to my original maker is not close to the same quality as the explorer 3. The explorer 3 case/shell is made of a low quality, feels like a rough plastic. I should have read more but I didn't know the roller is an accessory that has to be purchased additional. So disappointed! Cricut, you can and should do better than this:( the hype is not all it is cracked up to be! I loved my explorer air 2 and my current maker, but this is not Cricut quality that I have been accustomed to for years.
It was an 5 when it worked… Only because it broke in the first two weeks I had it does it get a one star. Cricut was wonderful and is sending me a new one. That gives them a 5 star for customer services
