Upgraded from an old cricut that couldn't be used online. It cuts faster than my old one but if you need speed you may want the Air2. I do love this one though! It does everything I need. If you want to do vinyl, glitter vinyl, htv, scrapbooking etc. this works great. Comes with plenty of free cuts from cricut too.
The Cricut Explore Air SE I purchased appears to be same Cricut Explore Air. Mine says Explore Air (not SE) on it. All reviews that compare the Explore Air and Explore Air 2 say they are equal except the Explore Air is slower but quieter. That works good for me as I am just getting into the cutting machine crafting. Its a hobby and I am enjoying learning about this craft with a lower initial investment! Glad I bought it.
I'm a beginner at crafting and I heard so much about these Cricut Machines so I kept contemplating on whether or not if I wanted to purchase one. I was really torn between the Cricut Maker and this machine. However, after thinking about and doing my research concerning who have the best dealat the lowest price. I decided to go with Walmart. Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!this machine. It was a great purchase that I received at a great price
Walmart offered the lowest prices of the season on the Cricut Maker, Air2, and Air, and even many supplies or additional accessories. After having issues that required the return of the newer Cricut machines, I initially was not going to get another one at all. While I think the Air 2 could have been user error, the Maker was definitely defective. One advantage of purchasing directly from Walmart vs other retailers is that I could return directly to the store. No submitting videos and wait time trying to get this replaced by Cricut. However, I really liked all the possibilities this machine offered, and the older models seemed to be more reliable per the information I came across online. Turns out Walmart offers one of the best extended warranty plans too. I decided to take a chance on this model and purchased the extended protection plan. The first year is covered by Cricut, but the extended plan will cover two more years beyond that. It isn't the color I wanted or even the model, but so far it seems to work! The main difference between the Cricut SE is the Air 2 can cut vinyl, iron-on, and paper up to 2x faster. (The SE probably just stands for special edition. This one came bundled with some free digital content.) The 2x faster speed is a software option in Air 2 (NOT this model this review is for) for certain materials or functions, but it seems like the hardware would be different than the Air to allow for that. Since materials can be expensive, I'd opt for the slower cutting speed anyway. The Air 2 can write up to 2x faster too, and I would have used that feature. The Air 2 has some nice decorative accents, and different color choices. The only other difference I observed was they changed the dial on the Air 2 to read "bonded" fabric instead of just fabric. In the end this Air had the main features I needed to create projects, and I bought a paper cutter to do the special wavy and other decorated edges for my paper projects. I don't miss the features of the Maker. I can do still occasional fabric projects, but they require an additional step of bonding them. The only other feature I might have used would have been engraving. Though these Cricuts can cut thicker materials, they don't seem to be the best choice for those type of projects anyway. I've made many special projects already. There are a lot of free resources and good tutorials on the Internet to help you get started including decorating the Cricut. Favorite projects have been Christmas cards where I used the Cricut glitter pens for writing my own special message and creating some keepsake ornaments. It is the personalization one can do with the Cricut that adds that special touch! The Cricut is a gift that keeps giving to others and the person who receives it. This is a great way to indulge your creativity by yourself or as a family activity. There are so many different projects to create. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.
I love this! Ive only scratched the surface of what its able to do. I still have a lot to learn! The set up was very easy. After signing up it prompts you step by step. Ive wanted a Cricut for so long Im so happy I finally have one! Tome to craft!
It works great! I was so excited to see this on sale! I went to pickup and I received it contact free! I messed up my first times using the Cricut, but it was really easy to learn! Must-Have for any crafter.
So I finally got the Cricut out of the box and set it up. I noticed that the door was not opening wide and at first thought that was how its made. No, it is catching. Its out of stock so I haven't returned it. I'm very disappointed!!
very upset I did not pay attention to the fact this was the 1st model of the explore not the explore air 2 which us what I kept searching for and this popped up. And so I bought it. if you search the explore air its only 153 so I saved literally 13 dollars.. this isn't worth the wait for a black friday item.
This product came to me and it doesn't operate correctly, when you press the buttons for it to open the clicking part that keeps it close does not work at all.
I could not get it to connect to my computer or 2 others and does not have bluetooth. I returned it after only having it for 5 hours and 3 were trying to get it to work. I am buying a more expensive one off Amazon, only $100.00 more.
