Couldn't get it to connect or update firmware. Tried multiple devices including iPhone, android, PC, MacBook and iPad.
I love my new Cricut Joy 2. I'm so impressed it can do print then cut! But I'm loving the portability of it. 2 pounds! So easy to carry. I've been taking it to craft retreats. I can easily cut or write a short journaling box or a great title for a page. I could do stickers if I also take my printer, which I likely will. I need to find out if any sticker paper will do. The absolute ONLY thing I don't like is having to change my pen to the blade and vice versa instead of having two places for them like my Maker 4. I love this cute machine!
I am new and a complete beginner in the Cricut world.I am an avid card maker, making greeting cards for 20 years. I bought the Cricut Joy2 as an addition to my card making repertoire. I used my Cricut to make several cards; birthday, Christmas, and Halloween. It is easy to use, and there are lots of helpful tutorials on the internet. It cuts and draws quickly with precision.I love the size and how mobil it is. Doesn't take up much space to use or store. The only down side is there aren't many "free" images and cutting patterns included with the machine. I have started to upload free images from the internet, and using them as well as the "free" images included with the machine. Over all, a very good purchase!
The Cricut Joy 2 I got is constantly disconnecting. I have tried every single troubleshooting method with no luck. The laptop is never more than 2 feet away from the Cricut in any direction and still it continues. I have tried connecting it to my desktop PC in the event that the laptop is the issue, no luck. It connects just fine when nothing is printing and as soon as I start printing it goes through the most annoying cycle of connect and disconnect. I have no choice but to give it 1 star because I can't even use it. I have not been able to complete any project.
I loved the original Joy and I was not sure if the switch was worth it. So far it has been. I've started collage artwork and leaving the Joy 2 out on my desk has made it more convenient to use. I use it more frequently than my original Joy and it's been a super handy tool for the projects I'm working on. The BEST part is that I didn't have to purchase any new mats or materials.
Super nice. The print cut feature is excellent! Drawbacks it doesn't have a turn off switch have to unplug it. Also wish it carried a little bigger card size but I figured out a ways to use it. I can make bigger objects if used accordingly. If youre not happy get a Joy Extra or bigger machine. I have a Cricut Maker also but find the Joy 2 is reasonable for cards. Am happy with the Joy 2 and have made 20 cards so far. The price was affordable for my use. Good quality and have luck if you decide to purchase it!
I am new to the cricut world and i am very impressed with this little cricut machine. I used to have to look on Amazon to find die cuts and stickers that I needed for my artwork projects but now I can make my own any size. And any text any size (depending on the width of machine) i work with smaller images and text. So many possibilities have been opened up with this cricut and I love it!! Would definitely recommend. Decided to start small with the joy 2 and this little machine is perfect for me. I did have to watch a few youtube videos to get the hang if it but not hard at all once you learn the basics. This bundle came with all i needed to get started.
I really like the size and ease of my joy as someone who doesn't have a lot of space and don't always want to pull out my larger machine. However I am very disappointed in the lack of trial time for Design Space. I feel that with a purchase of a machine, at least 6 months of DS subscription should be included.
Since I already have the original Joy, I found this Joy 2 seemed more cheaply built and I miss being able to close the lid. I was also disappointed when I tried Print Then Cut, which is the reason for the purchase, because I found that I need to get the longer mat, which didn't come with the machine.
Didn't really like it the blade went dull really fast and and it's just to small they don't have a lot of options for paper and vinyl to go through the machine and it's just a pain the bigger ones are better
