I love our new Maker 4. I am so happy for all of the various Ava news of support when ever I have a question. Only difficulty was getting the pen holder out of A in order to put an adaptor holder in for a finer tipped pen. I needed to really push up hard and I hesitated to push that hard. It worked and all is well.
The Maker 4 is amazing in all that it can do. After using a family members Joy Extra I was hooked but wanted the ultimate. 3 weeks later I have done the following: waterproof stickers for my grandkids and friends, glass etching a candy jar, birthday card, engraved a dog tag, permanent vinyl coffee cups, iron on vinyl t-shirt, full color DTV iron on t-shirt for my grandkids. Next is wood burning, leather tooling, and wood cut outs. Possibly even cutting out fabric.
The Cricut Maker 4 sure has kept me busy but in a good way. And Design Space is such a great tool for my card making and wedding business. I enjoy scrolling thru Design Space and getting ideas and creating my own. Their are hundreds of ideas and helpful hints that I never would have thought of that have boosted ideas and things that I can make!
I love the Maker 4 but I HATE the changes to Design Space that are being made. By moving the editing tools to the right side, you lose the majority of the working canvas. You cant shrink the layers panel so between the editing panel and the layers panel, there isn't much room to work. I don't understand the reasons for the changes but would prefer the changes be undone.
I recently started using the Cricut Maker 4 and absolutely love it. The variety of blade options gives me endless creative possibilities. Cardmaking is easy with the scoring blade, even for envelopes. It cuts quickly and precisely. My lantern project turned out beautifully, making this machine a joy to use.
I've had my Maker 4 now for a couple of months, and it is sooo fast and wonderful. Before this I've only ever had a Joy Xtra, but wow my productivity is through the roof. (I'm a Contributing Artist, so I use my machines a ton) I haven't even used it for all its capabilities, mostly cardstock, but can't wait to branch out to more materials.
I like the maker 4 because it cuts faster, but the contour part of design studio does not cut the way you contour your image. In other words when you remove parts of the image some of the parts you removed still cut? I don't know if it just design studio our Maker 4.
I have had the cricut maker 4 for about 1 month. This new world, to me is, let's just say, ALOT! haha. The website and you tubes videos have helped a great deal. I am enjoying the whole thing a great deal. My only frustration is the connection to the maker. Each time I am in the middle of a project, the maker becomes disconnected to the design space. Is this common? I haven't had time to log a ticket or check into the process of getting help if possible.
This was an upgrade to my Explore Air2 whose material choice dial stopped working before the machine was 2 years old. I received my Maker 4 and used it with the app on my iPad with no issue. 2 weeks later I can no longer connect by Bluetooth. I called support, they were not helpful and didn't even know how to install the beta software on my iPad. Issue was not fixed. A week later the tech emailed with a few suggestions that we had already tried. That was over two weeks ago , I haven't heard back and I still can't connect via Bluetooth. I think it's time to try another brand
I own a Maker 3 and purchased this Maker 4 as an upgrade for the faster cutting speed, but either the machine is defective or the speed upgrade has sacrificed a lot of accuracy. The circles and curves are always slightly wobbly, and shapes with rounded corners are not cut all the way around (the start and end of the cut do not align so there is a small corner that needs to be torn out). It was also missing the magnet in the storage tray where you store extra blades. Really disappointing, I do not recommend this Maker 4 over the previous models.
